BMW N43 petrol timing chain fail and repair
Another BMW chain fail and repair .Its 4 cylinder 2.0l N43 petrol engine, direct injection with vanos on both cam shafts . Car is 2007 and has 83k km ,yes only 83000k km .
So here we go , this involved - special timing tools ,special tool for removing and installing crankshaft front seal and parts .We use only BMW OEM parts ,its chain ,two sliders ,crankshaft sprocket ,crank front seal,rocker cover gasket , vanos solenoid O rings .Pictures to follow .

While doing chain found that spark plugs are very bad ,so replaced them as well

Thanks Valdas, great work and a really quick turnaround which was of great help.
Car had been serviced from day one at a main dealer, but the plugs were obviously never changed and
they didn't spot at the last major service a couple of thousand km's ago that the timing chain needed
attention, which is all worrying imo

its exactly same problem just with later engine . tomorrow we have car with same engine as in Your brothers car ,and day later same as in this thread :wink:

Seen Valdas in action today doing a chain, amazing attention to detail, cleaning everything as he went and making sure everything else was in its place and working just right. GREAT work :cool:

Hi all, sorry to bump an old thread. My valve cover gasket is leaking and needs replacement. Is it necessary to remove the injectors for this repair? On the pictures above, I see they are missing. I heard they will need new o-rings after removal. Thank you!
