Shift lights and disable secondary air pump can be done by using this software:

You can also increase the speed limiter, enable sport button memory, change warm up light sequence etc. Very easy use and only £20 per licence
Auto volume adjustment doesn't require coding - follow the guide here:

VANOS test requires GT1/DIS, a few members on here have this software
Yea I can do those things but I have since forgotten as I decided to buy the licence which makes it so easy.
Should also change your engine temperature lights to correspond to the oil temp . As in a non CSL they extinguish way to early. Which is just stupid
If your in Galway mid July I can do a vanos test for you.
Thank you for replying lads.
I didn't even know you can your engine temperature lights to correspond to the oil temp. Definitely makes sense. I am gonna look into those links.
Any links where I can pick up the cable for that software?
@schoonerm3: cheers man, I ll keep it in mind.
So I guess from reading the thread and my neanderthal understanding of computers, I will need BMWFlash software to read the "map" which I will modify with the software above.
and for BMWFlash I will need this cable?
FT232RL based cable

Correct me if I missing something.
Yes that's correct. You willl use the bmwflash to download the .bin file and upload it to Martyns tool. Make your changes and flash it back to the car.
Ask Martyn about cable's
The tool is only valid for one car. Unless you purchase the unlimited version.
Unless you buy the tool your only other option is to do it manually. Which involves bmw flash to download the . bin file and then using a hex editor software to locate the correct parameters and changing the bytes to the correct ones. It's would take a bit of time to do it manually and would be cheaper to just buy the tool.
Has anyone updated their DME to the latest version?
What exactly do you mean? There are no updates unless your referring to the smg or something.
