Driver door wont lock on e39

When I lock the car with the key fob every door locks except the driver door so I have to lock it with the key each time it just started this morning

Any suggestions or ideas gents ?

See if the windows are opening and closing when you lock/unlock the door via the barrell

It sounds like the lock itself is knackered but check the wiring from pillar to the door for breaks

Hi just to update working perfect now :huh: must be the electric thing that locks/unlocks starting to stick thanks lads

Could be a loose connection or broken/damaged cable.
Or the locking solenoid in that door.

I'd be surprised if the problem didn't return.

Solenoid would be my guess will look into it cheers

It's likely the door lock actuator, had the same issue in my first e39.

Yeah, if it shows signs of doing it in future, change it, my one eventually wouldn't unlock, had to strip the door with it closed.

Had to do this on the missus' micra. Horrible job all the same, no space in there for messing around with the doorcards inside.
