E36 ABS delete??
well lads.
Want to get rid of the abs pump off the track car.
Is there really a need to get the ecu re-flashed(?) to delete the abs? As Ive heard of a few people getting this done?
CAN ALL THE ABS WIRING JUST BE CUT OUT OF THE MAIN LOOM??
Reason I ask is, I pulled the abs fuses in my 323i and disconnected the abs pump plug and the car drove grand. didn't seem to be down on power and still revved out past 6500rpm. was expecting it to go into limp mode and cut the rev limit but that didn't happen.
Havnt plugged the car in yet to see if it threw up any fault codes.
Anyone any experience with doing this?
Cheers!

RE: E36 ABS delete??
Are you looking to remove the ABS unit for additional weight saving or are you just removing it from the system to just remove its functionality?
Removing the fuse would be enough to disable the system & it won't affect any other system. If you really want to you can get the ABS light coded out from the instrument cluster using NCS expert, it is only for cosmetics & not necessary.

RE: E36 ABS delete??
Ya want to remove it completely. I know pulling the fuses doesnt have any adverse effects, just wasnt sure if the ecu would act up if all the abs wiring was taken out of the loom.
A couple of knowledgeable lads "next door" reckon itll work fine so im going to chance cutting it out.
Wiring is far from my strong point!
