E46 PDC sensor fault
Hi,
The PDC sensors on my e46 coupe don't seem to work. I get about a 5 second long beep when I first put the car in reverse after each startup, which I understand signifies a fault with the system.
I have tried that DIY test where I put the car in reverse with the ignition in position 2 and walked in front of each of the sensors to hear if they make a clicking sound, but none of them make any sound. Does this mean all of the sensors are faulty, or does it signify a problem elsewhere (e.g. a connection or cable somewhere)?
Has anyone had this issue before?

Could be the PDC module. It’s part number 1 in this diagram:

Happened on both my e46s. I think on mine 2 were clicking. It’s located in the boot, behind the grey carpet panel on the right hand side. If you’re replacing it then get a new genuine one though. I tried 2 second hand ones on eBay and none of them worked. It would obviously be better if you could try out a working one but not sure if that’s an option.

Try one from from another car, before you buy.there about 220.00

mine makes now sound, but I think i can hear all sensors clicking.. Might try replacing that module then. I also heard that two outter sensors must have to be genuine ones

Could be gong gone, the big lad on the nangar road should have a modoul, swap it out and if it works buy it,he wont mind trying it there and then or,he can hook it up and it will show faults,
