Importing E39 M Sport from the UK
Hi all,
I'm am currently searching for a pristine E39 M Sport from the UK. Do any of you have any advices or pitfalls for me to look out for when buying in the UK? I haven't done it before.
I haven't seen exactly what I'm looking for yet but I'll wait and it will come up. I expect to pay more that I would in Ireland but the quality available is way higher.
I'm looking for preferably a 2003/2004 E39 M Sport, silver or grey, black leather with the brushed steel trim. 70,000 to 100,000 tops .
I've been looking on Auto Trader...any other recommendations.? Have any of you bought privately ?
Thanks

Pistonheads and eBay motors are also worth a luck.

I investigated importing an E39 525i or 530i sport from Japan. Based on a car with 60k miles or less it would work out about €5k landed at the time which is fantastic value based on condition, spec list and the lack of rust.

Plenty of snow in parts of Japan. So motors from those areas can suffer badly with corrosion. Also I would bear in mind the RADIATION CONTAMINATED motors since the tsunami.
