EGR cleaning and thermostat
Hi Guys,
just wondering if it's common practice to replace the EGR thermostat after cleaning the EGR valve ? I have just completed cleaning the valve and straight away there's a noticeable difference , having said that it was caked on. the reason I ask is someone suggested I also replace it but I'm not so sure , my guess is its still working so why replace?.
cheers,
Dan

Depends on how old it is I'd be replacing. Main thermo as well as egr thermo they can have effects on dpf filter

06 520d msport 73k on the clock, was heavy on juice but I put that down to a service owing to it shortly but there has been a noticeable improvement since I cleaned it, I suppose for the peace of mind best change both then may even improve economy more tho since remap am enjoying the power more and foot may have got heavier. :P
