Are opti-shields worth it?
Attachment 3160
Saw this on Facebook and would be interested in having it done on my car to reduce stone chips , but I've a few questions about them
-can they damage the paint over time ?
-will they look shit after a while as stone/hitting them?
-will they haze over like old headlights after a while?
-any where in Ireland put them on?
RE: Are opti-shields worth it?
Surely the paint call still be damaged with this.
Re: Are opti-shields worth it?
That looks terrible never really saw the point of these much like the bonnet bra your protecting the car from stone chips so it looks good but you never get to see your lovely protected paint as its always covered in this shit were are the benefits ?
Is that a picture or a video as i only see a picture with a sheet of poorly placed plastic wrap
RE: Are opti-shields worth it?
It was a photo of the process they claim its unnoticeable etc etc but I don't trust all I read
Re: Are opti-shields worth it?
Ah ok i thought that was the finished product [emoji1]
I seen a guy in the uk had this done (venture shield) on his brand new m6 gran coupe cost him about a 1k looked ok and stopped one very nasty chip but tore the shield so he had to bring it back and have that section replaced
Diffrent strokes and all that and if you think it will benefit you go for it but personally i wouldnt bother
RE: Are opti-shields worth it?
Hhhmmm seems a lot of money for what it is .
Re: Are opti-shields worth it?
100k pound car id say he can afford it [emoji1]
Not sure there all that price just recall him saying he paid that
I could think of better things to do with a 1k though
RE: Are opti-shields worth it?
For expensive road cars that see track time I can kinda see the point but I have worked on a car with one before, stunning machine but everyone commented on the wrap and not in a good way either, was 2k to fit too so not the cheap ones.
If it picks up stonechips just get it sprayed down the line.
