M52tuB20 e39 worth the hassle??

Looking at all the options
Be it:
Conversion to 2.8/3.0 (cheap but lots to do)
Turbo? ( not so cheap lots to do but big gains )
Supercharge? ( very expensive very but quick to do, moderate gains )

Are any of them worth the time and hassle of doing. I would very much like to keep the car as it's in great condition.. but the lack of power over looks and noise is a bit lame! :(
Should I get over my beloved attachment and flog it for something bigger displacement?

Sell it and buy the one you want.

Are you going to declare the conversion/turbo/supercharger?

If not, don't bother.

Boosting the engine is the bigger challenge as you have to lower compression.

Swap is easy but probably easier to go out on buy a 525/528.

I would declare it just to be safe but it's looking like buying the one I want is the way to go
