Establishing Production Numbers

I see a lot of adverts for cars in the UK stating "1 of 250 in this colour worldwide" and other such claims. Is there a way to find out how many units of a certain model were produced in a specific colour? If particularly like to find out how many E46 M3 Cabrios were produced in Techno Violet and how many E38 728's were produced in Avus Blue.

Looks like 25 in RHD and 2 in LHD in europe and 3 LHD in the US
