ZF 6HP Oil change
Has anyone done an oil change on the ZF6HP19 before? I'd like to tackle it in the near future and would appreciate any feedback on the job...
The filter(pan) and oil is a bit on the dear side, €150+ for the pan/filter and €20 per litre for ZF lifeguard 6... I'd need at least 7 litres.
Does anyone know any good suppliers in Ireland? I can buy a full kit on eBay with pan, oil & mechatronic seal but it would be nice to keep it local.
Cheers,
John.

You can also look at Landrover parts, may be cheaper than bmw (same gearbox). I got my kit (6HP26) from here:

If you're interested I have a nearly full 10l drum of Mannol AG55 that meets 1375.4 spec:

When I did the service, I bought the mechatronics sleeve from BMW and got a genuine ZF sump kit from ebay, total cost was €120

ZF 6HP Oil change
Hi Mark, thanks. Potentially interested but not until after payday unfortunately :) how much do you want for the 10litres?
-
Oh one more question, I presume a transmission adaptation reset would be recommended after the fluid change?
-
I reset adaptations afterwards, not sure if it's important.
Tried to PM you there but your inbox is full!

Thanks Mark, just emptied my inbox there.

I did an oil and filter change on a 5HP19 recently and got the oil from Ravenol which was a good bit cheaper than the Lifeguard. They also do a specific 6HP oil http://www.ravenol-direct.uk/ravenol-atf-6hp-fluid.html
