Vehicle Sourcing Specialists?
I have been looking at prices of certain cars in the uk (same as everyone I guess) and wondering with exchange rates and vrt and the likes what sort of options are out there for buying, and so importing myself or looking at sourcing specialists! So, is there any about? Or someone on the site who can point me in the right direction? In particular, specialists at sourcing vehicles and finance packages etc.
I have been trying to google it and dreamcars .ie keep appearing but would rather try hear people's recommendations rather than testimonials on a website written by god knows who!
Cheers!!

I used to work with Paul Clifford one of the guys that set up dreamcars.ie. He is a nice guy but I've never dealt with him from a cars perspective. Originally they were managing high end stuff & from what I remember they took over Des Cullen Cars business too. I met him last year & they do chase down anything for customers from a CW Golf to a Ferrari.
Having said all that bringing a car in yourself is not that hard really. You just have to ensure you do all the necessary checks, book your flights & ferries, etc. arrange a VRT appointment. Finally realise tag you'll not always land a warranty.

AHA that explains the 'DC' logos so, and the premises does look familiar alright!! I might give them a shout so and at least have a chat!
Regarding the warranty, yeah I'd be assuming there would be none when importing myself, even if buying through a dealer, that the warranty would probably have some clause that it's only valid in country of purchase or whatever! Provided the price would drop to reflect no warranty it wouldn't bother me..... again as long as everything checked out!
Speaking of..... would a sourcing specialist even bother with checks like that or would it just be buyers risk!?
RE: Vehicle Sourcing Specialists?
Getting all those checks done is the whole point of using the specialist. They have a reputation to maintain so it's in their interest to ensure all is in order.
With regard to warranty, the remaining balance of the manufacturer warranty is transferable. Some dealers in UK will do some sort of support if you buy & export, depends on the individual deal. You can also use the removal of a warranty obligation as a bargaining chip to reduce the price.
People like Dream Cars can offer a warranty (at extra cost), usually through someone like Mapfre or Mondial. These can be very restrictive. You can also arrange this type of warranty yourself, they start at around €400 but before you jump for this you need to read all the fine print as they are notoriously restrictive in terms if what is required.

If its a BMW you're after then speak to JKC in Coleraine.
They sell cars in to the South regularly.

Hi Paddy the age of the vehicle determine the risk/hassle involved if you buying from a uk main dealer its as safe as doing it here you can do a pick up anywhere in the uk and be home on the same day I've brought a fair few cars across from the uk and beyond if you want a chat drop me a pm with your number I'll give ya any help I can

Give the lads in Beshoffs a call and let them know what your looking for. They regularly source cars in the UK and also know of stock coming in. You'd be amazed at how many cars they sell that never see the website ;)

I was speaking to them when I went over to look at John's old e92 M3 and the guy told me that he doesn't know of anything else around (as John's had literally sold the day before I went over) and that most stuff is being exported. I had specifically asked if they can source vehicles and I was just told to check their website!
