Wheel question help!!

Hey guys! I am looking at a set of bbs lm's for my bmw. They are 18" in diameter. 10" wide on the rear and 8" on the front. My questions are:

1. would these be too wide for the arches?
2. Would I run into any problems regarding the width of the wheels and my gearbox? I've heard of people putting alloys on their cars that are to big for the gearbox and it causing major problems to it!
3. Would I still be able to install coilovers with these in or would there not be enough room?

I know these questions might seem stupid but I just want to be safer than sorry!

Hi Andrew, this is for an e46 318ci isn't it?

1. What's the offset of the wheels and what tyres are on them?

2. Is it an auto box?

3. How low you can go will again depend on the offset/tyres you have.

You won't have gearbox issues, I fail to see how it's relevant.
