Needs to be for a manual gearbox also. Any help locating one would be great as the vibration is driving me mad an don't want a chain relation of failures on drivetrain.

Is the vibration only under power?
Seems constant an varys on what speed I'm doing. It's the knuckle I'm told not the coupling. So I'm told anyhow.

I can feel play in it wen I pull off from stand still. An when your driving along its knocks when you give it power suddenly an release.

Are you sure it's not the prop shaft universal? Is the car remapped? Have you checked the guibo?
I'll get it on the jack later an get a photo perhaps. Car not mapped to my knowledge. Owned a few 530's an doesn't have near the grunt the rest did. By looks of all bushings an scrapes in the underneth it's had a hard life.

Centre support bearing would be quite likely, only way for sure is up in ramp.

The knuckle is the prop shaft universal, Valdas or HealyC maybe able to confirm but in pretty sure the universal is replaceable on it's own.
Listermint is bang on about the support bearing, it could be a combination of both.
I wouldn't just throw money at the thing, it's easy to throw thousands at an e39 and get nowhere. You would be much better off taking it to someone who knows them, long run it'll be cheaper.
After changing
Engine mounts
Gearbox mounts
Front control arms (all)
All vaccum hoses
Indicator stalk
4 new tyres
So all is starting to add up quickly without the rest that it needs, exhaust etc.
so I agree that a trip to valdas would be the best option.
