ELM 327 and Torque Pro app cam sensor fault
I just got one of these 15 euro all in
2 mins to get it paired and reading ECU. Seems to work very well loads of realtime information.did a scan and found 2 faults with a cam sensor. Did a quick read and everything from either the 2 cam sensors, lambda and vanos solenoid issues. Any body here be able to narrow it down for us or give us direction on how to without replacing all the above components.Car starts and idles fine although seems a bit dead on takeoff (I thought heavy car and auto was norm for a 520 m54).I know it means Jack shit but passed NCT with flying colours last month

ELM 327 and Torque Pro app
Very nice , is it just standard obd codes or does it also read BMW specific codes?

I am completely useless when it comes to this technology,I just got it this evening and that's what it threw up. I take it from what you said these are just generic codes and not bmw specific. On the plus side at least there's more to the app than fancy gauges and displays .and the Elm was a piece of piss to connect. No doubt I will be mucking around with it over the weekend to see what it can do. If its worth knowing about might do a little write up
Re: ELM 327 and Torque Pro app
The handy thing about them is you can use them on any make of car with obdII they can clear errors too the mate has one and I was surprised how much could be done with it running it alonside the free torque app , theres actually a full diagnostic app now that works alongside this gadget its 40 euro a german lad made it I know its expensive for an app but its supposed to be brilliant if your working with cars on a daily basis

Was talking to you over on driver about it, for the price you can't go wrong, at least it can give you an idea what's wrong if a light comes on

Yea it's working great . The only thing is up until I plugged it in, I thought the car was perfect no lights on etc, but now I know it's there I am goin to have to get to the bottom of it but don't want to blindly start replacing sensors an the like .

A quick update. Ran another scan faults still there. I then cleared the 2 faults . Ran another scan and got this message (attachment) ran the car and unplugged sensor beside expansion bottle and ran another scan and got hard fault code P0369. Am I to assume that this is the faulty sensor
