Is it the master cylinder that would cause this?
A spit in your vacuum hose or failed vacuum pump would cause rock hard pedal
So i shouldn't go near the master cylinder. I dont think any of the pipes are damaged is there anyway or testing the vacuum pump
Pop the pipe off the brake servo give it a couple of revs and see if you have vacuum

Pop the pipe off the brake servo give it a couple of revs and see if you have vacuum. If you have vac it could be the brake servo not master cylinder
im hopeing its not the servo because it looks like a right pain replacing that
It's a nasty job. Post up your findings.
Took pipe off to check the vacuum and its perfect.
Going to double check all the piping for tiny holes but 99% sure at this stage its not this.
Whats my next move anyone
Beer bottle under your brake pedal? Only messing.
Did this happen suddenly or gradually over time? Petrol or diesel, don't diesels have vacuum pumps?
Got sorted lads its a 318tds engine in a 318is coupe shell.
Brought a new hose from the vacuum pump to the servo and works a1 now. Delighted i didnt have to do to much ripping.
