E28 Stereo Headunit
I'm looking to get the E28 head unit replaced with something original IF an Ipod can be hooked up. Current unit is a Blaupunkt and has satnav cd and is very fancy but I want the interior to look a bit more original.
Has anyone got anything like this for sale or any pointers in the right direction?
Thanks

E28 Stereo Headunit
I think a bmw cd43 headunit will fit the e28 I think it does aux but not 100% sure
I also managed to dig out a nice original looking but modern pioneer headunit for a friend with an e36 it blends in very well with the dash il get the model no. For you
Lastly you could go the Becker route
It was actually clarion not pioneer

RE: E28 Stereo Headunit
You could mod an aux in to a period tape deck. Here's an example but the pictures aren't coming up on my phone so may not work: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500287

Right I need to ditch this current setup asap, its switching off under volume increases so I suspect a whole new setup is required.
I would prefer to drive in drive out with an expert kind of system. Any recommendations?

Since you never even bothered your arse acknowledging the previous information given why don't you try googling it yourself ?

@Gar I never replied as I didn't think you wanted a response, I googled those options at the time and now I would prefer a drive in solution to supply something similar as I do agree they all do retain a stock image.
@John...thanks for those links, ill investigate further.
Ive dropped Germaniks an email asking for options etc.

I suspect an issue with either the head unit itself and/or the wiring for the stereo. I have had a couple of e28s myself and have used far more modern headunits (mostly Kenwoods as I am a huge fan) than the CD43 and never had issues using stock e28 cabling or speakers.
I have also upgraded the stock stuff as well including speaker wires as IIRC they are only rated for 10 or 15 watts
Try the CD43 in another 80s or 90s era car - If you have that option. If you still have the problem its the headunit. Also tyr a different head unit in the e28 and see what happens
