Declaring a car commercial
Is there much involved in it??
Thinking of doing it for the Saxo as it might make it easier to shift.
It won't get an NCT with no interior will it............
Here's a couple of pics of how it is now.... Is it possible???
Cheers

RE: Declaring a car commercial
Ring the central vehicle office, I think its in Roslare? They will give you a definite answer. AFAIK it needs to have a certain amount of cubic capacity in the load space along with seatbelt mounting removed etc. They did make a commercial 306 which is similar size so it must be possible?
RE: Declaring a car commercial
Seats out
Disconnect windows
Belts out
Mounting holes welded
Weld in steel floor
Black out windows
Visit engineer, get signed off
DOE it
Change tax class at tax office after inspection
CRW and and tax it

Their was a 106 van so yea it can be done but I'd put a passenger seat in and door cards in and send it through the test!!! Maybe even try borrow some back seat!!! Not sure who's gonna buy it commercial

And I'm not even sure about needing a back seat for nct!! I'd be sending it through and see what they say
RE: Declaring a car commercial
Yeah, I can't see many people wanting to but it, to be honest.
RE: Declaring a car commercial
Are they 1.6? tax cant be that bad can it?
RE: Declaring a car commercial
friend had a Fiesta car van YEARS ago and didn't need NCT as it wasn't a car or DOE as it wasn't classed as a van :D:D
Sold it onto another friend who never had to NCT or DOE it and got cheaper insurance at the time so could be win win all round if you can get it put as a car van :)
Also seen your comment over beyond, my balloons are taken but thank you :D:D:D
RE: Declaring a car commercial
Cheers everyone, was just considering it as it would mean it could be driven on the road. It's sold now so no worries.
Thanks
