Lovely car.
I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt and assume it just happened.
The car looks to be in good order and it's strategically parked up against the wall to avoid door dings. Probably a careful owner.

I know a gent who lost an 840ci and a 2002 in similar a few years ago. He managed to get the 2002 back which he is restoring.
It looks like a rare motorsport convertible also.
I can't see it in the clips. I hope it's not a grey 325i vert on BBS wheels, there's been one around Galway with the same owner for 10+ years and it's in great condition. A distinguishing feature is it has extra lock cylinders in the doors.
I spotted this beauty in a drier part of the city yesterday:https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...24d5f639dc.jpg

Any 250 GTO is worth €30/40 million and more these days. Chris Evans bought a series 2 for between £12-15 million in 2010 I think.
The 288 GTO is no worth several million too. Mr McManus did of course but this yoke recently, he has a serious collection at this stage.

Haven't heard his name associated with a 250GTO but he does tend to go for top provenance cars, many with historical significance. The thing I admire is that his cars get out and are used. He certainly isn't shy about letting people nose around them when they are out too.
BTW. the evidence would suggest that the papers were wrong.... :)
I am confused????? GTB or GTO

McManus brother is big fan of the classics
Brian Carey

The Sunday Times
The Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta owned by Gerry McManus, inset, is worth more than €4m
GERRY MCMANUS, younger brother of the ultra-wealthy JP McManus, is emerging as one of Ireland’s foremost collectors of classic motor cars, rubbing shoulders at auctions with rocks stars and billionaires, writes Brian Carey. Last month the low-profile McManus displayed his 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta at the National Classic Car Show at the RDS. The car, once owned by rock legend Eric Clapton, is worth more than $5m (€4.4m). McManus also owns an extremely rare 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT Bertone Jet.
It had been rumoured that McManus bought the most expensive Ferrari to be purchased at auction — a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, sold by Bonhams for $34.65m in 2014. A spokesman quashed that rumour, telling The Sunday Times that McManus was not the owner.
McManus is finance director of Liberties trategic Services, the Geneva-based investment business headed by JP. He plays in the Alfred Dunhill pro-am, an annual end-of-season golf tournament featuring the world’s best golfers, a smattering of actors and the extremely rich.
He is renovating a former bishop’s residence in Limerick, which will include a grass-roofed underground car park. In the planning application, the architect stated his client had “an interest in cars and has a private collection”.
The car in that article is not a GTB, it's a 250 GT and just happens to be a Berlinetta or closed coupe. A 250 GTO is a whole other ballgame, the O for Omologato (Homolagation). Nick Mason of Pink Floyd has one. There were lots of different 250 models.

Well seems I need to brush up on my Ferrari nomenclature ;). Still he has such a nice collection and does get them out. I do find that the classic car market is a bit mental. Its like bitcoin, speculation has driven prices beyond any meaningful value and they are becoming trading tokens rather than cars.
My past Ferrari obsession [emoji1]
Classic and vintage collector car market is ridiculous. Every cabbage you speak to now when interested in a car starts with stating the price of these yokes is only going up and referring to prices in others countries.
