Just buy the 6 cylinder its an extra 400e a year in tax for the 525d
Say it costs 2k for the chain job that covers you for 5 years tax difference
Plus you get more reliability and the extra cylinders make a world of difference
If your worried about economy have it remapped to be fuel friendly should easily match a 520d
Lastly the 6 pots are usually cheaper is well win win you cant lose

How many years do you intend to go up this issue has been fixed on the later 520d's iirc
And your right a 5 from 08 up in anything other then a 2.0 diesel is rare as hens teeth so can demand a premium

once its N47 engine it has this problem,and its caused of engine mileage .Problem starts from around 70k mls .have now in E61 with 260k kmQuote:
