It's just that you don't get ignition, from my experience when there's a problem with the key, the car will come on and turn over but you won't get ignition.
didn't try plastic one yet, mate...thought is a kind of service key
It is a service key it doesn't open the boot or glovebox but does everything else , if the car was locked using the diamond key it would have been armed/alarmed so when you come back and open the car using the key in the door the alarm will keep going off until the keys put in the ignition
