Thanks a million Donal in a panic here
Just need to confirm.
I have done my homework on this and with the vrt and nox its reasonable

Yep - the figure of 0.023g/km in section V3 translates to 23mg/km. The table in the link below confirms that the levy for the first 60mg/km is €5 per/mg, so in this case 23 * 5 = 115.

sorry for the hijack, but I am getting a VRT rate of 1294 on this? https://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...0#&gid=1&pid=1
would it be safe to assume this is correct ?
Sounds near correct if the market value of that clio here is approx 10-12k euro
Did you calculate the nox charge

Yes on top of the vrt
If you were interested in that car the safest thing to do is to get the seller to send you a pic of the v5 book and see what's officially printed in the nox section and put into the calculator and it will give you a good idea if the charge

Incidentally, it looks like the Cup, in the same year was still EU4 compliant (possibly because they were made as a batch before the changeover to EU5 spec engines), so the NOx figure is 47mg/km.
Lads, can anyone clarify if the following statement is true?
If you are a dealer in Ireland you only have to pay VRT on the purchase price of the car in question (VRT is calculated in the same way to determine the percentage of VRT owing but applied to the purchase price and not the OMSP).
Is this really the case? I'm not convinced this would be applicable.
If it is the case does anyone know any "friendly dealers"? :)
Someone is spinning you a yarn - OMSP is used as the basis for dealers as well. This is from the trader manual for VRT
Quote:
4.3 Used Vehicles
In the case of used vehicles, the OMSP is determined by the Revenue Commissioners at the time
of registration. In determining the OMSP, Revenue takes into account depreciation and other
market factors (i.e. age, mileage and general condition) influencing the OMSP of the used vehicle
being valued.
I thought the same Ken but thought it prudent to check before we start the “bending over” process with the VRT office while they pick a number out of thin air depending on which way the wind is blowing and what stage the moon is at in its current cycle.
Then the task of appealing after paying the extortionate amount etc. It’s just a ball ache.
