What about, columbus tubing, open 4cd wheels, shimanio 105 (600 for the lucky ones), mavic, chinelli.. Not to mention your man with the campag groupset and time shoes. Happy days
I've got issues

Good man! You went for it after all, hard to pass it up ;)
I miss mine now :(
Yep, had to really, needs a service like any used bike but importantly the fork has just been serviced by a Rockshox tech.
Full carbon fibre frame, full bike only weighs 22 lbs. Carbon seat post and bars too
That is seriously light for a mtb!Quote:

Very nice, what model is it...did you notice a difference with the 29" wheels?
My Kona is a 26" bike, terribly unfashionable i know
It's a giant tallon 1. Yeah it's a lot faster and a good bit better on the road and it's nice to have the lockers on the front forks. Also it makes it easier going over stuff with the bigger wheels

Just picked this up yesterday.

Bought it off my brother in laws brother in law :hehe!: who bought it last year and did one trip (5k) on it and gave up :surprised: good for me, bad for him !
Looking forward to getting out on it now.
I have been out on my old GT mountain bike which I stripped and rebuilt over last few weeks but decided I needed a road bike.
I have to replace and change a few bits on it but that all part of the fun
http://i1099.photobucket.com/albums/...psh4w0u9op.jpg
Looks nice that Thompson..what's the spec on it? Would like a road bike but nowhere to keep it!
A few months on now with the carbon Kula, absolutely love it...very nimble on the trails, light as a feather so it's easy to chuck around.
All washed after Sundays spin
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...psojktzxxt.jpg
Also a new 180mm disc up front to give it a little more stopping power...
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...pswqtjbqg3.jpg
Full carbon frame and forks with alloy head.
Shimano Tiagra brakes/ gears etc.
rodi wheels and stem.
Schwalbe Lugano tires.
Just have to get clip less pedals and swap the brakes sides, I prefer the F/R R/L it's the opposite way at the minute.
Just had it out for a 25k spin and love the speed it has compared to the mountain bike. Ye really feel every little bump on the road though, I'll definitely be staying on the main roads.
Lovely looking Kona, where do ya go on it, just to do all the fire trails in the Wicklow mountains back in the day. Some great tracks up there
Yeah I'd say the difference in speed is something else. I noticed that going to the carbon fibre frame on the mtb.
Regular trails arw Ballinastoe and Ticknock...really great trails up there and all a few minutes from my front door
I'm in meath and usually just stick to forest beside me and canals. We're else would there be good light trails anyone know ?

My absence and lack of posting on this, and other forums, over the last 2 years is down to one thing, cycling! Knocking in about 300km/week on average. Started A4 racing last year, no luck yet but getting closer every race. Fingers constantly crossed.
Here's my current steed:

Have it since last November.
Fondriest TF3 1.2 Carbon monocoque frameset
Ultegra Di2 6800 groupset. Internal cabling & battery.
Dura-ace 9000 53-39 crankset
Stages powermeter
Fulcrum red-wind 50mm carbon wheelset
3T team integrated Garmin stem
Michelin Pro4 Service course tyres.
Tips the scales at just over 7kgs. Worth more than I'd care to admit, definitely more than the E60
Laughing here at the lads modifying their bikes much like their cars. When it's in the blood, it's in the blood!
Fixed that for ya there:tounge:Quote:

Savage weekend on the trails...couldn't have had better weather
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...pss41kbco5.jpg
And after a clean up...New mudguard etc (man, this is sad :D )

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...psle6fgh7r.jpg
Fair play man, was great weather indeed  I've been super lazy so far this year :( no motivation for road cycling, it just isn't half as fun as moutain biking!
Some DIY first aid...knackered finger and alot of cuts and bruises all over...gotta be careful out there
http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...psgt6lmbk4.jpg
You picked the right day to get out. Ticknock was it ?
Meant to be in Ballinastoe in the morning and looks like it's gonna be a wash out :crying:
Was in Ballinastoe, lovely day for it, but the trails were seriously boggy in ths forest sections...i came a cropper when i hit a rock and slid then hit another rock and did a superman over the bars...finger just sprained i think...nasty trail rash up my left side
It's more fun when it's wet :D gotta be careful though!
What are the chances! I bought this machine a few weeks back. My first road bike.Quote:

I do need a better seat, the one on it would cut the arse off ya. my friend is selling a brooks saddle, was around 135 new but he said 50 for a mate. it was never used.
it's pink though...
http://www.wallbike.com/sites/defaul...oduct/pink.jpg
There should be an Allen bolt in the center of the stem just loosen it and slide it down the tube and retighten. As for the saddle wear pink shorts an no one will notice
Go for a Specialized Body Geometry saddle for about the same money new.
Wont be retro cool though
Picked up a new (old) Cannondale for the OH.
American made, seriously nice bike

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...sy59adexm.jpeg
Ballinastoe was slushy this morning but I've seen it worse !!
All made it home in one piece which is always a bonus.....
Love cannondales, nearly bought one but the Kona made a little bit more sense so went with that in the end. Would definitely consider one in the future :)

Got my new frame due to a crack in the original one, replaced under warranty from Cube, ohh and upgraded my wheels too [emoji468]
I know nothing about bikes my knowledge extends as far as the raliegh max raliegh activator and purple haze [emoji1]
But that bike looks fecking great [emoji41] [emoji41]
Those wheels probably cost more than the two bikes ive posted pics of! Looks great (for a road bike :D)
I'm on the hunt for a decent mtb hardtail if someone has something they want rid. I'm 6ft so a medium frame would be grand.
Itching to get back at it. Sold my Boardman a year ago as the full suspension was a killer on the roads.
Loads on adverts.ie Conor...if you don't mind 26" wheels you'll get a bargain (they're very unfashionable now).
Attachment 5004
I traded my giant defy against this full carbon spyder. It has nice campagnolo gear and wheels. Conor I've an XL frame lapierre that should suit you. A mate of mine has been using it with no issues and he's around the 6ft mark if your interested?
