I brought a car in from the UK last month which was first registered March 2008. It fell into the cheaper Co2 band - 280e to tax for the year :)

Brilliant that confirms that so :)
Saw that cheers, I saw it at £9,995 though
Ride height looks very low in the rear and the back lights aren't original, all bad signs for me
Probably some rich young lad up north though it was cool. Put shite coilovers in.
Rear lights could be swapped out.
Ask them about the suspension.
No point in being that picky
Every right to be picky if you are looking for the right one. Are you after a manual? I would have through it would be easier to sell an auto 35d then a manual.
Looking for an auto 335d, they were only sold auto I think.
I don't think I'll find anything tbh...millions of 320d models out there
Anyone know what E90 325d is like? Is it far better going for a 330d? I really want the 335d but they're few and far between
Also, I need to be picky I think, I was when I bought the 325 all those years ago, and got exactly what I wanted at the time, so I'll be doin the same this time
Yep, hold out. "There's always another one", that's what a friend of mine in the trade told me years ago. He's right.
The right one will come along. When's the next new car regs coming in UK? September? That might free up a few.
Oh yes please!

Saw that. Birds Garage have a 10 plate touring for £16k which is too much imo, but again shag all out there...I might end up spending that yet
Father has this in the LCI; and I love driving it - has a grand bit of power, and can imagine its quite a bit more fun with a re-map!
His is the Business Edition, with the wider screen Nav, and the paddle shift...only thing its really missing is Xenon's
He was starting to make grumblings of selling it a few months back when one of his friends picked up a new Octavia; but shot him down (as I couldnt afford it yet! :p)

^^thats what I want! Love that colour

I bought my 328ci from this crowd - the generally have some nice stock, worth keeping an eye on their site.
They have a white 325d if that floats your boat

Cheers Ken..not sure I'd be able to pull off the look tbh :D
Will keep an eye out
The first one there is ok...but needs to be 08+ I think and has to have leather
Spoken with the dealer about the 325d...it's perfect except for no xenons..and it's a 325d which I don't really want...but you never know
Are you fully set on the diesel Don ? Seems mad when you already have the 120d outside the door I think for around the city and the odd weekend blasts you'd enjoy the petrol a lot more
No, not fully set on one, but I've seen more 335d around so think there's potentially more choice. I'm ideally after an LCI car, prefer a touring also. I'd very much consider a 330i and 330d.
Having read this thread, all I can say is I feel your pain. I've been keeping an eye on 35i's the past while - its depressing reading on any of the Irish classified sites. Any crop up in the past few days?
Nope, not a one. I've a pain in the proverbials trying to source anything in the UK...I've widened the search now to 330d saloon or touring...but feel I'll have to settle for a 325d. ..there seem to be lots of those about. Then again, is there any point when the later 320d gets 184bhp anyway.
Getting to be a bit urgent now
Looking at a manual LCI 330d..with the later N57 engine and about 60k miles..is the N57 engine affected by timing chain problems like the N47?
Also, will a 330d with a manual box be a bit of a pain, or will it be like the 120d we have but with a bit more go?
Not sure if you've seen this? E90 335d
Silver though, be nicer in a different colour
Link doesn't go anywhere Dave? Is it a pre LCI saloon? Really set on an LCI saloon now
Fixed now - sorry!
Yeah its a Pre-LCI with 63k on the clock!
Cheer, yeah saw that one, it's well within LCI price territory though.
Any joy DonB?
Not yet Ciaran, had agreed with a dealer on a very nice M Sport 325d touring, but it transpired that the last owner of 6 years was a heavy smoker and a valet, wet vac and enzyme treatment didn't shift the smell. Couldn't live with a car that had a bang of cigs every time I got in.
Still on the hunt, very limited stock in the UK it seems...mainly focused on a 330d now, a tourer would be ideal
Good advice John, I have a Polo (or similar) lined up from Hertz if I need it...will likely do that.
When I'd the reg change?
That's a great shout from John. I too had a similar situation last year. I ended up getting a great deal through Enterprise for a couple of weeks where I simply needed a second car. A neighbour of mine picked up a 02 Clio taxed and tested for €250 (not a typo) to plug a gap between cars due to a private sale. If it'll take you a bit longer to get what you need, it is another option too.
I would strongly advise to hold out for a 335 if that's what you want. I wanted a 535 last time, and settled for a 525 that came along, I wasn't happy until I sold it and bought the 535. and that was after owning a 530 too.
My brother is currently home from the UK. He has a 16 plate F30 320d MSport Touring xdrive as a company car.
Sport auto with paddles and all the toys. Gorgeous car. Got a spin in it and to be honest there isn't the need for any more power imo. It really launches with the 4wd and from 60-100 mph it flies along. Stick it in sport plus mode and it can tackle the twisties superbly.
If you could get an early one of those they are a beautiful car.
While a very able car hooch, that just reads as depressing to me. As much as I enjoyed my diesel E46 for the mile munching I had to undertake at the time, I'd never go back. I'm not making comparisions between them both, more so an observation on diesel and the current offerings from the likes of BMW.
I think we're into a time, where we need to make the most of and enjoy the last of cars equipped with 6/8 cylinders as dailies, before the oncoming barrage of low cc turbo charged cars (petrol and diesel alike). All to keep the krusties with their environment agenda, happy - its depressing.
Yeah, I've seen a number of F30 320d SE models in the likes of big motoring world, but already having a 120d, I'm not keen to buy another 4 cylinder diesel...while the 120d is actually a great car, and very quick (we have the 177bhp one), I don't reckon it'd be enough for me in a 3 series body.
I agree but there is no comparison between the old M47 and the new twin scroll turbo engine in the F30.
By all means a 325/330/335 is a more enjoyable car but I think i'd be satisfied with the 320d if I wanted a frugal all rounder which is still good to drive.
But not for a few more years, I did just sell an Audi A4 and ended up in a Fiesta ST (everyone thought I was going mad) but i don't regret it one bit!
Absolutely, and no comparisons being made - but as long as there is a good revving petrol cruiser, I'm steering clear of diesel and the latest wave of low cc turbo charged emissions loving petrol equivalents :)
