Would you consider either of the e90 m3 that are for sale don?
Too much money, they're at about €30k iirc?
Correct both in that range
Do the sums, it might work out better to hold off and pay a little more for the one you want, from the UK than one that available right now with higher tax. In the long run you might be better off going for more cost up front.
I would steer clear of a diesel if you are only doing low miles and short journeys. Otherwise you may as well factor in an EGR valve, DPF and potentially injectors and a turbo. Those components don't hold up well for short journeys.
Seeing your ownership tenure for the e46 you tend to hold on to your car for a while. I think the petrol equivalent 335 is the one for you. The world will cop on to the poison that diesels are churning out and the taxes will be raised appropriately. I'm not a diesel fan so I might be a "tad" biased!
All good points. The car I'm looking at is an 06 with a 2 year AUC warranty, so I'm hoping any of those issues would be covered?
I'm not entirely sure tbh. A newer 335 petrol is still killed by VRT, the one I'm looking at is very low thankfully, but obviously with high annual tax
I don't see the point as well ,as rebel.ranter said . 13-14k for 06 car ? Diesel? Even after 2 years ,be no guarantee I would say ,maybe bit more mileage ,not su much ,but what it will cost ?!? Even road tax is mad .
For money U are looking for ,it should be M or at least 135i or 335i ,or worst diesel ,but 08 and on with low rate tax ,something as 750€
In two years u save about 2k only on road tax .
Would clogged DPF or EGR be under guarantee ? Will it worth traveling to NI if it be bought there with these problems?
Only suggestions !!
If I could find a 335i or 135i for €14k I'd be very happy indeed, but I think it's very very unlikely!
Also, warranty covers all Ireland dealers, so any issues and FKs or M&G take care of it..or the NI dealer will collect and leave down a courtesy car...we've done this with the 120d
Saw this on backroads a few weeks ago

Looks savage, I need a saloon or touring I'm afraid. Cheers though
