I only use Esso.. Jeff do you notice an immediate improvement when using 99 or does it take a few tanks for the ecu to adjust?

Seemed to adapt fairly quickly Shane, although I filled up when on fumes so it was nearly a full tank of V-Power went into it
When I had my 325ti I always found it never ran as well on Irish fuel compared to the UK stuff. With the 335d I found V-Power Diesel a waste of money
didnt notice this thread untill now, while it is on the subject of petrol id just like to say washed petrol is becoming quite common now, or whatever they are doing to it im not fully sure, i got stung with it there a while ago but it was from a local petrol station not a topaz or texaco or any of the well known ones, so stick to the good stuff lads.
Anyone know what the story is with e85? It's scandalously cheap in France and was thinking of giving it a go as I drive through??
I used to run my old Skyline on E85 before it was withdrawn over here. It was environmentally friendly, only €60 to fill her up (€1 per litre) and had a higher octane. The car was mapped to run on it as her main fuel. When I couldnt find a maxol garage I had a switch that i flicked to run the petrol burning map.
Its 85% ethanol, would be wary running it myself unless I had a car designed/mapped for it.Quote:

I was avoiding Maxol for its' 5% ethanol, but the car seems to run better on it so I've started using it recently. According to the Topaz website their fuel is 5% ethanol as well, but the car definitely seems to prefer Maxol fuel.Quote:

Grand I'll avoid it, ta :)
I heard that Topaz use ethanol to bring their petrol up to 95ron where as Maxol add ethanol to petrol that's already 95ron to start with.
Does anywhere do unleaded 98 or just 95?
