Let's not forget that the Montreal ( Olympics ) Blue E36 secured 3rd position on the podium and the bronze medal in a very competitive field. :smiling:
Careful where you're spraying the champagne lads.
Well done to Irish Eyes, awesome car. And to everyone else also.
I can only dream about car of the month, never mind car of the year! :smiling:
Congrats to Irish eyes, well deserved.
Hi guys, appreciation to all who took time to look and vote - thank you from my bottom to my heart.
I think it was always going to be a battle between the ‘Mods’ and the ‘Rockers’ or in this case, the ‘Originals’ with the rest maybe placing some value on what makes the E9x M a little different to the rest of the E9x range.
I wouldn’t necessarily be in to modifications myself because I know I’d make a complete b0ll1x of it and would never get it looking any way decent. Also, if in 20+ years I was looking for an E9x as a classic, I’d probably be looking for an original as it was when it left the factory.
However, on saying all that, there are a lot of guys out there who can take the time and have the mod skills and foresight just to get it ‘right’. In this case, the likes of Mackers and Paddy’s Mc’s are cases in point. Take something decent and with the right tweaks, turn it in to something a bit more special. In that case, a ‘standard’ looking M is always going to have a fight on its hands when up against something that is done tastefully such as with the touring.
There was a good mix of candidates from the pleasure craft (E66), the balance of the E36, the silky straight 6 of the E46 to the subtleness of the E90 that is housing an interesting V8 and each have their own vices and virtues.
Ultimately, I believe it is just what BMW M managed to do with the E90 M to allow it to scrabble slightly ahead.
So well done to all and also to Gar for the original idea of COTM and COTY.
Here’s her happy face and also someone else’s pic I like from the last C&C
Best regards and Happy New Year to all.

I love subtle mods on a car, mods that would have been available from the factory are a special favourite of mine. Mackers & Paddy Mc go a step beyond the OEM type mods but they seem right. The right mods can transform a car & it's important that the mods keep on going! Variety is important.
I've seen this e90 M3 in the flesh & it is one that should be the "find" in the future when we are all seeking out an original example of an M3 in 20 years time. It is pristine, really pristine. I didn't see the wheels since they were polished up but they look fantastic in the picture above. I wonder how they would hold up to regular usage with a 12-15k miles per year usage?
