Becouse u missing some parts?? It looks in picture so
Could you enlighten me, what i am missing?
Edit: I think i know whats missing. Bump stop metal cap. Found it on top of the old bumpstop in the shed.
I could say, it is caused by my own stupidity. Oh well, i know next time to be more careful.
I also checked the other side, cap is there. So i missed it only from this side.
yes that one .doesnt matter how bad will be top mount ,could be in bits ,but it cant go threw out .
Thought this would be the best place for this as most people searching e39 suspension will lead to the this tread hope you dont mind
Anyway good video on rear suspension here

I had the car tracked yesterday, as the nct is coming up. The guys in there said to me, that they can't adjust the camber in rear left, that the bush in lower swing arm is gone.
I have never heard of swing arm bush failure in e39. All i can find from google is a thread from driver, where RPG was told the same thing, but it turned out to be seized bolt. He replaced both swing arms.
There seems to be no replacement bushes available from bmw. Only ones I was able to find are some Febest branded items in Amazon BMAB-010 and BMAB-011. But I can't find if anyone has actually used them. New swing arms cost nearly 400€ each.
Has anyone replaced these bushes before?
It is the one circled in red.

have never seen that that bush would fail at all ! other one in front of arm might do ,there bolt number 9 goes in . even in so so condition tracking should be done properly .but maybe its something wrong with subframe ,maybe slightly bent or just tired .is subframe it self in perfect nick? there adjusting bolts moves in subframe, it has pressed out special holders to hold bolt very tight . I have replaced subframes only because these parts was worn out and tracking bolts moves too much free in their places and tracking cant be adjusted properly
I looked under the car and these pressed out notches look ok to me (could be wrong of course).
I don't have much confidence in that place where I did tracking anyway. It took them nearly an hour to get the rear right done, then they spent only 15 minutes in rear left and told me, that the bush is gone. Then another 15 minutes to do the front and they had to do it again, because steering wheel was off center. I only went there, because my usual spot was closed and they had that fancy Hunter machine.
And Valdelis, when you replaced the subframe, did you buy it new or used second hand? I just want to know my options, if it turned out to be dodgy subframe after all.
I think I will get a new set of eccentric bolts and washers + nuts. Drop the swing arm and take it from there.
I got second hand ones ,but checked first these points there bolts fits in ,but u can check is it twisted or other damage .of course best to get not from damaged car .
I thought u got already new adjusting bolts and special washers
u didn't had that car from new , u cant know its full history .maybe it got side damage as wheel would hit foot path or so ,so arm or subframe could got even small damage and now it would need so small bit to get it wright
Those were the only bolts I never changed in the suspension.
I should add them to the list in the first page after I change them. :D
Oddly when I got the car tracked in the summer, there was no problem adjusting it.
Anyway, when i get the bolts off, I will measure the diameter of the washer and bolt head and compare it to the size of the gap between the 2 notches on the subframe.
It is not massively off, in the right I have -2°03' and in the left -2°10'.
