Today is grille day! I decided to go with OEM for M6 & JCW for the Cooper S.
Really surprised at the thickness of the JCW Aero grille. The lower grille needs some of the ridge cut off in order to fit properly.

Oh, and I had to have another dent removed from M6. I must be the most unluckiest person when it comes to car dings! It was parked in my own driveway, my buddy called over and accidentally opened the e36 door in to the M6, didn't say a word. Sorted now but I'm considering getting it wrapped......in bubble wrap!

Top grille is a straight replacement, there are these stupidly fiddly "bolts" that cut in to the plastic dowels on the original and replacement grille. Taking these off while not hard was tedious.
The centre grille was a different story! What a PITA! I burned out the brushes in my Dremel cutting the Inner edge off the grille so it would fit. The grille is designed for the Aero Bumper not the Cooper S bumper. It's not 100% sitting right yet, but 20 mins (at some other time, because I've had enough) will see it perfect.
......Now to organise that hitman!
EDIT: I added an "S" badge from later model to add a bit of colour.

Mini looks great RR - grille really suits it !
Last NCT of the year - on the e60 530i - and surprisingly a fail. Never had this before and too dark to take a proper look tonight, but the I had some new tyres fitted recently and apparently one of the was fitted the wrong way around :)
Apparently the Rainsports are not Directional tyres as such, but they do need to be fitted in a specific manner, i.e. showing "inside" on the inside, and surprise surprise it should show "outside" on the outside of the tyre. Not sure how that makes them different to directional :)

Rainsports do look odd when fitted. :)
And their Assymetrical, Basically they can be swapped to any corner where as a directional would be the wrong way round on the opposite side. :)
In fairness though, for this application I'm finding them a really useful tyre. The sidewalls are pretty soft so they're not top of the line as regards ultimate handling, but for the 530i, which is a bit of a wafter, they provide great damp and wet weather performance and are usefully quiet. The flip side of the soft-ish sidewalls is pretty impressive ride comfort though. Helps keep things calm in the cabin on a long winter run :)
I had a look in daylight this morning and they guy was right, the nearside rear is inside out. Fair cop guv....
Peace and calm restored in the e60 world yesterday evening. Inside is now inside and outside is now outside. Interestingly it has also had the side effect of eliminating a little bit of vibration that I thought was down to a small buckle in that wheel. Brucey bonus...... :)
