I have replaced adjusters in 2 sets of lights. Trickiest part was getting the high beam side adjuster in. I used the round inspection/ LH RH driving lever hole on top of the lights to get it in and then held it in place with finger, while trying to screw it in with 10mm socket from the back.Quote:

I split my lamps with a heat gun.
You can check whether your lamps can be split buy removing the trim on the wing side of the lamp, the screws go glue, if the glue is gummy you can split the lamps.
Checked the lights last night; on turning the lights on, they move up, and using the manual dial inside the car, they move up and down smoothly. So there is no issue with them then? And the tester is just pointing out the the car needs Auto Leveling (similar to Xenon's) due to the bulbs that are currently in it - and then failed for the bulbs also!
Yep they sound fine dave a quick bulb swap and allignment and your sorted
The adjusters for the beam adjustment is a different adjuster.
The adjusters that break are the manual adjusters.
Grab the bulb holders at the back of the lamp, if there is a lot of movement the adjusters are broken. My adjusters were broken and I could still adjust the beam angle from inside then car.
Wasn't aware of that my driver side is gone and on start up of the car it wont move up and down i presumed this was a quick way of telling if they were gone or not
Hmmm; had a quick look at them and the play doesnt seem too bad, or excessive, but then, Im not sure what is acceptable!
