THE GOOD :
The car drives well with only has 112,000 miles on the clock and pulls, brakes and changes gears with no issues. The fully automatic roof is in excellent condition and looks to have been replaced at some point in its life but this is just a guess based on its condition. Upon quick inspection It does not look to have been painted outside of production. All lines and panel gapping are good. The Style 32 wheels are in good condition with only very minimal kerb marks to the passenger side wheels. Tires are budget brands however they do have a lot of thread left and the rears look like they were replaced recently. There are no visible oil or coolant leaks. The interior is in good condition with one hole on the outer driver side bolster and 2 tiny holes on the rear seat base. Electric windows, mirrors, roof and other car electrics working as they should. There are no ABS, ASC, or Airbag lights on.
THE BAD :
Some form of lower life decided to key the car down the driver side front to back and also the rear passenger side quarter panel. Ideally it would be a 2 side repaint and front/rear bumpers, rear panel has started to rust but has not gone through the metal so this would need doing also. The key only unlocks from the passenger door lock not the driver side, unlocks glove box and starts the car. It does not unlock/lock driver side door lock. The body work is where this car is let down, having said that with the body work done this would be a lovely project car for sure and from the drive yesterday would need very little mechanically to see it through and NCT. The thermostat is due for a change as is the case with most E36's of the age and mileage.

This is now turning into a project so she shall most likely be getting the following :
2 sided repaint inc front and rear bumpers
Full service, check over, thermostat and new fan belt
Fresh NCT and 3 months tax
New leather gear knob
New service book and folder
Full scrub up
Thanks for looking :)

Nothing to elaborate tbh, paint work, service and freshen up. Mechanically it doesn't seem to need much at all so just some preventative maintence. PM on details of the hard top please ;).

Put on some smoked side and front Depo indicators to convertible yesterday evening. The standard clear lenses were splitting and this give it a fresher look imo.

Then this evening the Motorsports and a hardtop went on. NCT is being booked over the weekend and shall then take it from there. Also picked up a small folder of previous nct's and receipts which is a nice addition to the glove box.
Once the NCT is done I'll make some more plans outside of regular maintenance and hopefully give her a new lease of life.
Thanks for looking :).

She had a wash this morning before C&C too which was needed, thankfully it's a great day out and removing the hardtop yesterday has allowed me to enjoy the weather with roof down.
The only thing letting this car down is the scratches but I shall get these sorted in the new year, in the mean time I might try to fill the scratches with Avusblue, clear coat them and the wet sand and see how it goes. I say might because time is not really on my side.
Thanks for looking :).

RE: 1999 AVUS BLUE E36 318ic CONVERTIBLE PROJECT
Project has now ended as the convertible has gone to its new home. What next is the question!
-
Project has restarted as I bought her back :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
So since getting her back 2 months ago I have done the following things to it, sorry about the lack of pictures. Current mileage is now 133,444 miles. Did a front end refresh using a new brand taken on @ SUPER4, which is "Optimal".
SUSPENSION:
2x Optimal front wishbones
2x Optimal inner tie rods
2x Optimal outer track rod ends
2x Powerflex wishbone bushes
2x Powerflex droplink bushes
2x Optimal droplinks
ENGINE:
1x New radiator
1x New thermostat
1x New air filter
1x New oil filter
1x Engine flush with BG EPR
1x Oil change MPM 5w40 (test)
4x Bosch spark plugs
BRAKES:
Front vented disc conversion
New front discs
New front pads
New front wheel speed sensor
TYRES:
2x New ThreeA 245/40/17 rear tyres (budget tyres for test) bang for buck excellent, great grip wet and dry, will have to see how they do after a 5-6,000 miles on them but so far so good.
More to come :)

Some tinkering going under the bonnet and a quick bay clean done too.

Thats it for now, she now has 136,000 miles on it and going very well indeed.
