is the prop with the big balancer drum on it? if so, knock it off, its not needed.Quote:

I'm not sure which prop is on it
I think it's one with the drum
I wasn't actually fitting it
if its with the drum, you can beat the drum off just with hammer.Quote:

not really. as newer props comes without those drums, guibo and prop bearing does the job anyway.Quote:

Should I remove it and take 2 mm of the end or remove the weigh off the prop as Armando said
Is thee any damage being done at the moment
Thanks
when I fitted mine I noticed it before putting all back together so I took it off and hammered it a bit and tried it a few times until I was happy,if you are doing it yourself leave it in 2 or 4th gear and if underneath you will see how much needs bending to miss the shaft, its only a tiny bit but it makes a difference.Quote:

Was thinking it a bad idea to remove balancer . So best plan wouod be either to bend it slightly or Maybe shorten the connecting end by 2-3 mm?
I presume if I got a z3m I would have the same issue ? The one I fitted is a schnitzer one and listed for a e36 so why does these issues happen
that balancer is old school idea! newer props comes without it, and also each prop on both ends has factory weights put on, so it is balanced anyway. prop can easely do without that drum!!Quote:

thanks for all the replies, i will look into that option or bend it slightly
another question i have is it possible to replace the bushing that sits in
here ?

i cant find the part number anywhere
I don't disagree the centrifugal force it causes Is caused for a reason therefore I wouldn't interfere but that's my opinion, it is much easier to bend the shifter than remove the drum in any case ;)Quote:

yes it can. ive few bushes made out of nylon for it. all you need to do is drill/burn/push out the old one and push in new one, that someone made for you. there is no oem factory replacement for it. i could not find it anyway, when i made them my selfQuote:
