Painting Brake Calipers, what does everyone think of it?
Been thinking about this for the last while. I'm for it depending on the colour and of course the car.Quote:

True and also when motorway driving it's always cool to see the caliper behind the spinning wheel. I was thinking of doing the caliper one colour and then the retaining clip a contrasting colour.Quote:

Give them a quick going over with a wire brush and go with Black Smooth Hammerite! Just to take the nasty look off them, but not to draw any attention to them! ;)
I done mine last year no regrets here I like them
Im just afraid of it lookin a little boy racerish if you know what I mean, red seems to be the most popular colour...

Yea I was thinking black or silver for the same reasons you've stated...Quote:

I'm about to do the same. Bought the hammerite smooth black.
This way the brake dust won't be visible on the caliper/hub.
I did the silver on the previous car and it looked very good.
All up for it, black, grey & silver would be my choices, on the right color car red can look well also. Don't forget pics if you do it and Hammerite works a treat :).

I done mine last year.
Wire brush and degreaser to clean them down.
Dried and I used heat resistant spray paint (Matte Black)
Few sprays and it covers the calipers brilliantly.
Don't worry about the little overspray on the discs, it comes off when driving and braking. Ill try dog out a few pictures for ye
Which matte black paint did you use by the way? Did it hold?
There's loads of them in halford/b&q/etc.
Any heat resistant one will work. Yeah held up on the whole 600miles I've drove since...
I did mine recently but I took them them off because I had to do replace a brake line that was worn and a caliper had siezed. Made it a lot easier IMO.
What I did though was clean them off with a wire wheel brush first to help the paint mate better.
