e39 facelift stereo install various parts
CD player left 60 euro
Hi I am thinking of selling my stereo equipment as I have an idea of an upgrade and want to see if it could be a runner (financially).all parts fitted to the car and working 100% and can be heard working ,would be a great oem upgrade for the e39.I am located around Clare
(1)In dash CD player (from 2 piece unit)
(2)Sony SOT amp and sot lead
(3)Aux input from CD wires in boot (only works from headphone socket)
(4)Adjustable line level converter for sub install.
I haven't priced everything individually ,but I would like to get around 200 for the lot .please let me know if you want price for individual items, pics, part numbers etc (too dark at the moment for pics)

Re: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
Im surprised its taken this long to shift good oem kit , that facelift cd player was 150e alone last time I was looking, funny how the parts market changes constantly
-
RE: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
Yea I had the car a year before this stuff became affordable, and paid a good bit more than I am selling, I think it's to do with the fact that Bluetooth/usb connections outweigh the oem look.

Re: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
Stick it on adverts for a 100e
What are you changing to if you dont mind me asking ,pm if you prefer

Re: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
No not at all looking at this Alpine iDE-178BT.it's a mechless unit that I am hoping to fit behind the flap. I have a donor facia just trying to work out how to open and close flap. With the mid unit underneath and the stereo hidden under the flap should look oem.steering controls should mean it's kept hidden. Well that's the plan http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/15/subegyzy.jpg

Yes the Dennison would give me Bluetooth and usb but put it this way it's a bit like having an old colour tv, you can get hd satellite, blue Ray, connect a WiFi box etc etc but it's still an old tv and no matter what you do it will not compare to a modern all singing and dancing tv. For me to get something that retains oem and sounds almost as good as the aftermarket unit I would need a time alignment pre amp filter ,an amp, a Denison device as apposed to a single unit, so not really easy .I hopefully will only have to worry about fitting 1 unit against 3 units not to mention the aftermarket unit will work out at around a quarter of the cost of the 3 units plus I get to sell my current setup to partially fund the whole project .As the saying goes there's madness in.my methods or something like that
:D

Does the retrofit loom not resolve this issue?
-
RE: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
Yes there is a loom for this, but on eBay it's working out more expensive than the stereo :surprised:.so looks like a non runner.
-
e39 facelift stereo install various parts
The retrofit loom I got from bmw was only €30

RE: e39 facelift stereo install various parts

-
RE: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
Thanks for the offer, the only one .I would like to get more but if that's the market value I think it will be great company for my collection old tech so I would sooner hold on to it as a spare or reinstall it if I do something stupid, like sell the car

RE: e39 facelift stereo install various parts
Glad to here it arrived safe and sound, I think the internal amp has a few extra watts as I thought the same when I fitted it, as for the CD I say it's a bit old school for you ,don't worry about it. Thanks again Dave pleasure doing business with you
