Try one of these[FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE]
I've the Z3 1.9 one in my car and I love it.
You have to bend the selector rod to clear the driveshaft balancer when 2nd is selected.
think im sorted for thisdQuote:

Hi folks, If it helps I can do the Z3M shifters for €67.00+ delivery. However do some research into the fitment as from what I have seen you will foul the propshaft balancer which then leads to horrible sounding 2nd gear changes.
Generally you best running with the below I feel,
4 pots - Z3 1.9 shifter €56.33 + delivery
6 pots - Z3M shifter - €67.00 + delivery
These can be placed on a larger order going into our EU suppliers are will arrive in 7-12 working days from date of order. By placing these on a larger order shipping is reduced quite a lot. Otherwise single orders incur a minimum shipping fee of €19.88 from our EU suppliers via DPD.
Hope this helps,
Cab
The Z3 1.9 is perfect for the 318is just make sure you bend the selector rod too.
Could you do a kit with a refreshed plastic bearing thing etc?Quote:

Was talking to one of the lads about this mod at cars and coffee Does the Z3M shifter fit an E46?
Assuming the e46 is similar to the e36,
I think the Z3M lever will be too short IMO,
The Z3 1.9 on mine is just as short as I'd dare go, any shorter and it'd look as if it was falling through the floor!
Hi Folks,
Are you all happy for the short shift kits to include parts (see link below) : 7, 10 & 11 ??
