RE: Veyron VNS head Unit E90
Have it sorted gar. Turns out they all need a permanent live to hold memory. So it seems this is how it's done. Hopefully get it fitted in the next week or two.
Re: Veyron VNS head Unit E90
Makes sense would lose your time settings ,radio stations etc otherwise
Look forward to the pics
RE: Veyron VNS head Unit E90
It needs one permanent and one switched power source otherwise battery will go flat.

It's 99% plug and play mock using the harness snap on adoptor. This one wire is the only one that needs to be spliced as such. It also came with reversing camera, not looking forward to chasing that wire!

There is no switched power on the OEM radio plug.
If that is the case as you are saying, that means the radio has a switched power detection mechanism and in that case detect when voltage oes goes from 14.x to 12.x and goes to sleep shortly after that unless you press the button if the car is stopped.
Enjoy and keep us posted with pics.
RE: Veyron VNS head Unit E90

Plus a new dash yeah. This is business though, I would not bother.
RE: Veyron VNS head Unit E90
What do mean a new dash ?
Do you have to change the dash on the e90 when fitting the sat nav :s

Seen it Gar. Business idrive is pants. I'd actually rather an aftermarket kit than business system, that goes for the E60 business system too.

You need the dash with the bubble in it to fit the iDrive screen into

It's one of those dynavin style units.
Thanks.
Hi looking at getting one of these how easy was it to install was it plug and play like they say or was there more to it, trimming etc
Also how has the product been since purchase are you pleased with it? Do you have the vns e9x?
Does it stick out much at the bottom of the centre console?

It's plug and play 90%. There was one wire that needed to be sniped because it kept setting off the reverse screen. Something to do with the canbus box. The sellers done the trouble shooting in the back ground and just mailed me what to do and what colour to cut.
It sticks out about 1cm at the bottom but they all do to get the angle on the screen to view it correctly.
It works 99% perfect. It's not oem so there are some little bugs here and there but it plays DVD movies, music streaming etc without a bother and Bluetooth hands free calling no issues. Say nav is handy they you also have iPod and SD media inputs and all controllable from the MFSW.
All in all I'd give it a 7/10.
I'm an oem guy so I'm not convinced about keeping it so showing a fla it tomorrow to sell it on.
Theres a pic of it fitted here http://www.bmwhaus.ie/forum/showthread.php?tid=2380
