Brian has decided to call it a day on the Detailing!
Sad to hear.
I believe his hand was forced rather than calling it a day - cant confirm, but heard his landlord was asking for more money, and he wasnt willing to meet a crazy increase. Couldnt find another place - near impossible to get a place in Dublin....all they hear is Car Wash and its an automatic no!
Another one down :(
I'm glad we have Detailing Shed!
Shame to see him go, been around a long time. Nice portfolio. The attrition rate on detailers is high.
Detailing shed is going to have the dublin market to themselves.
wow, that's a shame, he's been around for as long as I've been into forums.
Sad to see that happening. He’s been around a good while...

Very sad to see this happen, Brian did a two day correction on my E28 and I was delighted with it. Hope he springs up nearer to home in Trim!
Why set on Dublin ? I'd say there's a lot of demand elsewhere in the country and premises are far, far cheaper. I'm not aware of any reputable detailers outside of the M50 TBH and there's some serious metal elsewhere that need some love.....
I know many in the Galway area alone that would have no hesitation in using a detailer with Spirit's reputation....:)
I'm sure he has cast his net a bit further afield than Dublin. Even at that, to get a premises that reflects well on your business requires you to be in the same area as other businesses who are projecting a similar image, who in the majorities eye, lets face it, see Detailing as a glorified car wash and would object to the new tenant coming on board as it would bring down the image of the business park they are located. Combo that with the need for something not too big, reasonably insulated, etc, it limits choice quite a lot. If people were willing to open their minds to the potential customer base a detailer could bring to their business park / industrial estate, they might have less of an issue!
I called to him to buy a few bits in 2012 or so, I wonder if he has stock nowadays that he wants to clear down? Could we help him here on the site? I know it will potentially hurt DetailingShed for a while but would it be a good thing to do? I think he did some CarPRO stuff...
Would be a very helpful thing to do if he has stock - dont think he'd have much...but definitely if it were a case he need stock shifted, it would be a relief to move a big chuck quickly......well I know it would be, if it were me!
I have reached out to Brian, and made a suggestion or two, to him based on our recent changes within my own business; not sure its something he'll go for, but perhaps not the last of Brian in detailing circles! :)
Fantastic Guy with great Talent, Ive Detailed a few cars for him down the years when he was Snowed under with orders, Ive been out of the Detailing game since ive moved to Canada but im starting back up on my own cars atleast, bought a couple of new machines and Stocking up my garage ive the S5 Half done!!!
I hope he can keep going, Its Sad to See Ireland the way it is.. prices of everything thru the roof, doesnt make it too appealing to move back home as much as id love to
