E60 headlight upgrade.

Lads Im looking to upgrade the lights in the car.
I have the standard Pre-LCI halogens.

Im not looking for Xenons or HIDs as I find the light they give off fine, especiall after upgrading all the bulbs, I basiacally want better angel eyes, The OEMs one are muck, even with the upgraded LED bulbs they are not visible at all in daylight.

I have done some research and its hard to see whats available as some lights seem to only be spec'd for certain conutrys (LHD etc)

My options.

1. Upgrade to LCI Lights.
This seems to be expensive and finding the parts and have to have a wiring loom made and coded. Has anyone done this ?
Also I seen that If I find a set of LCI halogens that they have the upgraded AE's but dont need the wiring changed or coded. ?

2. After market.
Depo : These seems to have the same issue, 1 bulb powering the whole ring so would be pointless.
Umnitza : They have the better Rings, but I know they their quality is questionable and aftersales service is even worse plus they are looking for stupid money for shipping too. Looking at €800 all in

3. Modify them myself.
I fitted the AE's to the Eos so im firmilliar with this process.
I have found a good few sets or standard haloged lights on adverts and Donedeal for less that €140, So im thinking I could use them to pull apart, fit the upgraded rings, change the orange eye lids to white and maybe even fit Halogen projectors.
Having the spare set would allow me to be able to take my time and do it right and after all is done If I have issues I still have the original set to stick back on.

So is there any other options im missing or would anyone have any recommendations.

Up-grade to LCI is the handiest. They freshen up the car and can be sourced for handy enough money if patient.

I sourced my own from eBay UK and Germaniks fitted and coded them for me with no issues.

How much did it cost in total if you dont mind me asking, And whats needed ? I have read that I need the headlights. rear light and LCM ?

You can do fronts and rears seperately - don't need to be done together !

The front lamps I stole for less than €200 at the time at auction on eBay ! Germaniks wired and coded them - can't remember what that set me back but I'm sure you could ask him direct

The rear lamps cost €300 I think wired and coded through Perfect Car

Thats a great price, they are making £250 each from looking there. Are the AE's bright, I really want them clearly visible in daylight

Never gonna be as bright as the Xenon AE's or current model AE's but certainly better than pre-lci equivalent

I'll see if I can dig out a photo this evening for you!

Do you mind me asking what you are paying for the Spiders ?
Fancy a change myself and can't find anything else to put on the car without skangering it !! Also, my own could do with a refurb !!

I just found and bought a set of LCI halogen headlights from a breakers, Car was wrecked form behind.

He is sending me the 2 headlights and LCM, as he said ill need them.

From doing some research Im not sure if I need the LCM as they are halogen, I believe the LCm is only needed if Im upgrading to Xenon or upgrading to LCI rear lights but could be wrong, No harm in having it though.
I have also asked if he could supply the wiring loom + connector from the lights but im not sure if I will get that.

Does anyone know what else I need to get these to work ?

Part number 61120432110 It's a cable kit for LCI lights conversion and includes plugs for the headlamps and cable looms for the rears (keep those) The LKM II is only needed for LCI rears but you'll have the issue with 2 wires to the AEs (pre-LCI) vs 1 wire (LCI)

Thanks for that.

I'll look into the wiring for the Angel eyes.
