3k budget for car suggestions
Quick one guys. The brother is back from Oz and is going back to college this September full time. He needs a car and is looking at early e46's. As he has high college fees to pay also, looking for something reasonable that is reliable? Budget of 3k max for a car! Preferably manual and nothing higher than 2.0
RE: 3k budget for car suggestions
Hi would a 03 316i (1.8l) Se touring suit him? It's a good bit under budget.
RE: 3k budget for car suggestions
Go for a 00 model 520i, should be 2.0 and lots of car for the cash with plenty of change left for mods.
Re: 3k budget for car suggestions
Late e36 318is be a good buy too , reasonable performance good looks cheap to run and the m44's pretty bulletpeoof
RE: 3k budget for car suggestions
I have a 03 320d touring in black, 150 bhp in great shape with bags of potential if tourings were his thing, would come in way under budget too:-)

Black 320 convertible up for sale in my section if it was of interest to him. Come Monday it's getting prepped for rear 1/4 to be repaired and once this is done then I'll be going the whole hog with her. €1750 Ono take her as is.
May not be his cup of tea but at least it's another option for him :).
Hope this helps

Geoff's 330 is listed at €3,700. I'm sure a deal could be done on that.

330i is Auto and well, 3ltr :P
But the Auto is very well suited to the motor! If he can see past both those, definitely worth looking at!

I had intended my first bmw to be a 318 ( for ins reasons) and a manual (because an auto isn't a real drivers car blah blah). Thankfully I got sense and bought a 323ci auto. It took 10 years before my next daily was a manual and that was only because there are no m3 DCTs around.
A short drive in this car is all that it'd take to be hooked on it.

The car is in very good overall condition just turning 135,000 mikes 1.8 petrol. SE model with M Sport front bumper.
A few bits to do such as removing the rear m3 badge etc a good service.
There is another Bmw in the family
