Changing grey leather to black leather 525 import
http://www.gumtree.com/p/bmw/bmw-525i-m-sport-%C2%A31850-ono/1081897169
I'm looking at this 525i in the UK. It's well priced and looks clean and is the colour, price and mileage that I am searching for. Only thing is it has grey leather ......I don't personally like the grey but would be prepared to search for black leather seats m sports seats in good condition and fit them
I'm wondering would this ruin the interior look as the trim is in grey also...any thoughts folks?

That's lovely, no fan of the grey but I reckon after time you would actually like it.

It is a lovely car and a good price. I'm really keen on black though! Think it would look odd though if I retrofitted black leather

RE: Changing grey leather to black leather 525 import
I'm not normally a fan of grey leather, But I like that... Suites the E39. :)
If you were going to change to black, Do it properly... Dash/Carpet/Seatbelts/Doorcards and seats... It would look odd with black leather and light doorcards... And if you change the doorcards it won't match the dash.
I presume there similar to an E46, If so it's not that difficult to remove the interior.... Hardest part would be the carpet around the heater matrix.

RE: Changing grey leather to black leather 525 import
Finding black leather will be the easy part the hard part will be changing the entire interior to match it will look very odd if you just swap seats

How easy is that to do...change the whole interior cards etc? I'm new to all this to be honest!
That car is sold btw but I'll keep searching.

Dot how much approx to convert something like this to black leather interior?

RE: Changing grey leather to black leather 525 import
Erm, its Dod. Lol
ok, I have an electric and manual black Sport interior, which is €400 and €350, seats and door cards, the lower dash parts, plastics, carpets and parcel shelf, basically the complete conversion is another €150 and to send all to you is 2 pallets, €60 each. Fitting could be sorted as well but if you wanted to do it yourself, I'll knock a few bucks off the lot either way.
Not to try and sell the above but the right colour interior looks class in the right car, I love Black leather but in for example, a black car, it doesn't look right.

Sorry Dot! I'll try and find a car with the interior I want but if I can't I'll get in touch. Thanks

Been looking for a while Gar, difficult to find them in good condition here. I don't mind paying extra for something nice in the UK that I plan to drive for a while.
What would your reservations be about buying the above car? I've never bought in the UK

Their is a much nicer variety of e39's in the uk i just think its a bit of a waste going through the hassle of it all to buy a silver automatic with +100k every week new e39's come to the market iv no doubt if you waited a few weeks and watched all the irish sites you will find one the same as linked above
If i were going to the uk id want nice spec lowish mileage and unique colour not easily found here , just my 2 cents at the end of the day its your choice

Nice one above , its funny how the trends go at the moment there is only 22 e39's on pistonheads extremely slim pickings they seem to come in bursts one month you will see loads another month there might be only 10 cars for sale

RE: Changing grey leather to black leather 525 import
I just don't like cream leather at all Gar... I could change it out but at £2,555 already that's stretching my budget. The touring looks interesting I have asked him for some pics of the interior
Only 2 colours I'm after are the grey or silver....I've offered yer man £1800 for the one on eBay . Subject to an RAC inspection I'd take it....I haven't seen any in good condition here recently
