Lads,
One of these has popped up.
Currently seriously considering it if I can get the dollars and it's a strong engine.
What else will I need to put this into an E36?

are you buying a complete car or just the engine?

I don't want the full car due to keeping costs down
You'll need a different sump - will have an E34 one if its fitted in an E30. Exhaust manifold will have also been cut to fit the E30, so you'll probably need a new one of those too.
Thanks for the replies so far.
Would I need the likes of keys, ecu, fuel pumps, etc.
In an e30 m50 conversion they would use an e34 sump so you will need to source an e36 item. The exhaust may also have been modified for the conversion too...(kdevitt got there before me)
With everyone going for 6pots in their e36's now I may have to try a different game...

I'd assume the sump and exhaust from a vanos 325 will do? the b25's are really hard to get a hold of!

ive a few bits if ya buy it,328 exhaust, orignal airbox, think ive mounts as well, have 325 speedo somewhere as well
have m50 sump here and full m50b25 exhoust here, with modified end tips and silencers insead of cats
You'll also need the oil pickup and I'd stick a new sump gasket and pickup gasket while you have it off. Make sure the loom is in good nick and was originally from an e36 otherwise the ecu will be on the opposite side for instance if it was from an e34. That could make things messy trying to fit the loom inside the plastic cowling. You'll want an e36 dipstick too and probably a prob shaft unless your keeping your old gearbox. Much easier to buy from an e36 breaking and get a price on all the parts.
