I live and work in Sandyford - never heard of them sorry
Do see their Disco around a lot though !!
By a strange coincidence my m5 was with them today. Front bumper removed and , resprayed and two dents on two panels repaired and four alloys refurbished in one day. Work is totally flawless under a detailing lamp and reasonable price. Recommended. Sounds lads too.Quote:

He sprayed my front end and but the sport bumper on. Excellent work and very cheap.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread.
Need to sort out a rusty rear arch, got a quote from car cosmetix of €220 to repair and paint. Sound decent?
They're the only people who have replied to emails I've sent.
Avoid like the plague , see page 3 of this thread
Cheers Gar, gonna book in for later in the month...they're booked up for the next 3 weeks
They were the only crowd to respond to me when contacted about PDR as well - for that alone I'd be giving them a shot at some business in the future.
Got a few bits sprayed and fitted good price and quality
I sent off emails with photos of the rear arch to 4 or 5 places, never heard a word from the othersQuote:

FairPlay to them, great to see customer service being rewarded with buisness
Mcung13 had his e39 530i done by him also
I found the work good but my dad was given the total run around with 5 date changes to the point where he got it done elsewhere out of frustration, so I think they might be suffering from their own success.Quote:

Like Gar said earlier, they did the front end of my e39. Their price was great, half of what I was quoted by known bodyshop in Carlow.
He is a gent alright and youll be very happy with the work.
John did a few scratches and dents on my M6 -- he was superb, top class work and customer service.
Bare with me this will be a long review and il need to edit it a few times putting everything in correctly but its a must as i need to ensure nobody from this forum ends up out of pocket
Following on from the open recommendations online for carcosmetix (i say open as i had pms later about how bad some of the work they have done is) i chose them to fix and paint the rust scabs that had developed on my e39's sills and archs so i contacted john very nice guy who had great feedback so seemed a no brainer so i left the car in with him roughly a month ago and victor (guy that works there took the job on) this was work being done both sills and both rear archs

Attempt no.1
This was how i recieved the car back il let the pictures do the talking on this cowboy job,now remember this was after they had painted it hard to believe i know

So this was a disgrace onto to phone siad nothing on the forum and gave john the benefit of the doubt and a chance to correct it as i know everyone has the odd off day he siad no problem bring it back out
So i drop the car out again leaving myself without a car for the day
Here is attempt 2
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...a55c573793.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...892cf83e36.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...4c6e32946d.jpg
Its better and going in the right direction but wait whats this ? Unbelievably bad finish on the rear archs with terrible orange peel and the bits of rust on the sill behind the liner just painted over which average joe probably wouldn't notice
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...717e848143.jpg
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...68078c6d71.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...9a4210d654.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...a58a28017c.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...4665481b3b.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...9a5daa8f95.jpg
So at this stage i went public on the forum and decided the car wouldnt be going back near them but listened to the majority and did finally in the end decide to go back a 3rd time against my better judgement
Attempt no.3 (fixing the orange peel)
I drop the car in its absolutely pissing rain but they only need it for an hour so i hang around it rolls out looks much better the orange peel is 85/90% gone im happy im in the car and gone i go out this morning to get a few pics and wipe down the dirt and and residue left behind from fixing the orange peel etc and what do you know little bits of rust are appearing on the arch again already un fucking believable
Orange peel gone car looks good from 2-3 feet away

Thats my experience and review on car cosmetix
That's appalling work, obviously can't be bothered with the simple task of treating the rust before painting it.
Won't be using them
Thats absolutely horrendous work! Definitely wont be using them! :surprised:
Jesus christ gar that's a load of bollix, God knows what it's going to be like in a few months, sorry for your waste of time and money, any chance of them refunding any money?
Ah Gar that's unbelievable. Even my rust repairs despite being rushed and not using 2k primer lasted a few months before any bubbling showed again and at that it's very slight.
Shocking workmanship, sorry for your troubles.
All three attempts are shockers. How these places stay in business when outputting work like that is beyond me.
I kind of imagine these lads mostly do crash repairs for the average joe and for them this level of workmanship is fair enough but I don't they are ready to carry out top notch work to a level most of us here would be hoping for

im sure i could go down the small claims route and win but to be honest i haven't the time and quite frankly just couldn't be bothered iv already chalked it down to a bad experience and moved on the purpose of the feedback was just to make sure nobody else has to go through it
Shocking work - I was going to get them to quote for some work next week, but will save myself the journey
That's unbelievable, an utter disgrace
Was going to be doing the same next month...will look elsewhere nowQuote:

This is it exactly imo im looking at it now out the window and it looks great most wouldn't be under the car with a camera or pulling back sills etc as it wouldnt bother them i just wish id have known this from the beginning it will have to do for now i might tackle the sill corners myself and send it in elsewere to have the lips on the arches ground back treated and sprayed again as that finish wont last longQuote:

I was on the website looking for the review
I notice the use a lot of isopan and not much panel beating going on
I'm shocked at how they could give your car back to you in that state and think it was ok
To paint the arch and leave the underside the same as how it came into the shop is crazy.
Speechless....absolute disgrace to call that "work" have seen a lot of dodgy resprays and work but that is 100% the worst imo that rust would of came back by the end of the year.
I can understand the first time it wasn't right but a second and third attempt really shows them up.
