2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
After more than 4 years, I've decided that me and my trusty diesel coupe need to go our separate ways. In the 5 years of ownership, I've added my own few subtle touches, but still keeping close to that original factory look. I've also kept on top of servicing and carried out preventative maintainence to keep the car in top condition. All of the areas of concern with the M47N engine have already been addressed, details of which are below.

It has a fully documented and receipted service history. The first 5 years of which was in the hands of BMW's 5 year service plan. The car exterior is in good condition with 2 items worth noting. There are slight marks on rear bumper (bought with this present, looks like a carparking incident) & the front bumper could do with a touch up due to stone chipping. The interior is fresh as can be seen from the photos.
Full and complete details of the car, in my ownership can be found here in my project thread: http://www.bmwhaus.ie/forum/showthread.php?tid=60
The car currently has 136k miles and is NCT'd until 2016. It is also taxed until March 2015.
Price: €6995 with the BBS wheels.

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Have been fortunate to meet Ciars and see this car on a few occasions.
If I was doing more miles to justify a diesel I'd be making an offer.
Good luck with the sale and keep us posted on the replacement ;)

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Decided to re open this thread and put it on donedeal/carzone/adverts - am I mad to use those sites to advertise? Should I pickup another SIM today to ease the pain of gobshite timewasters or whats my best approach? Been a while since I've bought/sold (4.5 years actually!)
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
I sold a family members Civic via Donedeal a few months ago.
Had it keenly priced (lowest priced one on at the time) and within
30 seconds of the ad going live I got texts and calls asking for
"my best price", wasn't a nice experience.
Saying that, the chap who eventually bought it was a gent.
I would try push it on here for a bit first and see what reaction you
get?
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Price it up to deter timewasters, or indeed get a new sim.
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
I'm just after selling a sub 1k car on donedeal & I hope i never have to do it again.
My advice is:
- If it's convenient get a second sim
- Advertise it as: no offers if your not willing to pay x don't bother calling. That will stop most of the last price brigade however advertise it at 10% more than you will sell for to allow for haggling in person.
- Refuse point blank to talk money over the phone if they're serious they'll be more interested in the car than the price

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
It is hard to know Ciaran tbh, I put mine up a week ago on Haus DoneDeal and Driver. I had 4 enquiries on it. Of the 4 one of them was a phonecall asking if i would take a trade. One was genuine but sounded like he was busy weekend to view and the other two were genuinely keen and visited the car. Only the second fella lost out because the first guy bought it last night.
I priced the car what i think to be very fair. Neither Overpriced nor underpriced. Realistically i could have got more for condition i suppose. But when i made my mind up to sell i wanted to price it as fair and not sit with it playing on my mind to shift. Because i would probably change my mind again.
Id say make your mind up what you think she is worth and what you would be prepared to let it go for and the rest should fall into place. I dont mind donedeal. I think depending on how the ad is written it weirdly deters some chancers as they know its outside their usual 'what will ya take' league.
If im making any sense. ..

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Good luck with Donedeal.
You will need a lot of time and patience on your hands.
The genuine interested guys will come to view the car, that is good indicator.
Getting a new SIM is not a bad idea.
GLWS, it is a very nice motor.
Maurice.

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
I sold on DD last year, the brothers Golf, it was priced a bit higher then the rest to get rid of timewasters and I tried to put a good ad together. Got a couple of calls, no time wasters or low ballers and sold to first viewer no hassle.
I think a good ad will deter them as they will see you know about the car itself and cars in general so will not be low balled.
At least you know you will be hitting a big audience, not all DD people are time wasters, sure most of us spend a good bit of time on there. Same with Adverts.
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Plus 1 has to be done donedeals audience is huge 1000 times the size of any forum i wouldnt really bother with carzone or adverts if it will sell anywere its going to be donedeal
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Really good info/pointers lads, thanks. Gonna throw something up on donedeal and skip adverts.
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
I had my E39 and E46 on both DoneDeal and Adverts... Sold both through Adverts so I wouldn't rule it out completely.
Be prepared for offers of half your asking, Swaps for their Nan's Nissan Micras etc..
GLWTS. :)

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Story so far:
Was offered a low ball 6000k without even viewing the car! Needless to say I refused that in the 1st day of advertising and then a week later at the new offer of 6500k.
Next, I've a keen buyer at 7250k with no trade/swaps, straight cash deal. I'm currently considering it, with a few quid more my way.
Now tonight, I've got a new interested party with a swap deal into a 2003 face-lifted 320Cd with cash my way. So out of the 2 viable offers, open to thoughts?
a) 7250k cash
b) 2003 clean low mileage 320Cd + cash my way
OR
c) Tax it, forget it and drive it until it's 10th birthday next year - I really couldn't care less if I part with it, or hold onto it!
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Take the 7250 option b would be pointless imo
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
I agree Gar, i'd take his hand off for the 7,250, its a fair offer imo.
You'd buy a nice replacement with a few more quid.

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
If genuine about selling take the cash offer, You could be getting a shit-heap with hidden problems in P/X and cost you more in the long run.
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
7250 is good money. Id be on that

:D back to the phone so lads, cheers
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
just outta curiousity, was this sold Ciars?
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
No Peter. I didn't do anything else afterwards. I could write a book on the no view cash offers through text not to mention the complete timewaster I dealt with 10 days ago. Just keeping it clean and prepped for more winter driving. If it goes it goes, if it stays then fine too!
-
RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
Re-advertised and back on donedeal. This time lesson learned. Wont be entertaining the chancers I had 2 months ago. Please pass around the word lads, thanks.

Well done Ciars....whats next?

RE: 2005 E46 320 Cd M Sport Coupe
There is f all decent cars out there, as you know, ideally an 07 325 coupe. Sticking to a tight budget so I might just get on the bike for the next 4 weeks until the trade-ins start arriving.
