2006 bmw 530d m-sport
Please do, would be interested in seeing it.
It's there in the above comment
Haha, completely missed that, I saw the line and automatically assumed it was a signature.
I'll give him a call tomorrow, thanks for that.
Bump:cool:
After looking at a few E60's, had no joy so gave up for a while and now started to consider an E39 instead, I know they're getting on a bit now but I can hopefully find a reasonably well maintained car for reasonable money if anyone knows of anything?
You consider a e53 X5?!! 2006 Le Mans Edition?!
If you're interested, send me a PM!
Thanks but it's worth way more than I want to spend now.

Looks stunning, when in 2015 is it tax'd to? When you say ecotune decat fitted, is this a full decat in the car or is there still another cat that will allow the car pass the nct emissions test? And pardon the ignorance, but what's the difference between the wheels? Can you pm me your location as I'd like to view it.
Looks like you've done quite a lot to it, is there anything outstanding that would need to be done for the next nct? What's it like body wise for marks, dings, etc?
You don't need a cat to pass the nct in a diesel
http://www.bmw-driver.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38276 and i think lot questions will dissapearQuote:

when u ask what it would need for next NCT , what u mean ? would u ask same question for tester after it would pass nct?
body has only few stone chips ,any dints it had before are professionaly fixed.car is in Naas road ,its my daly driver now
I just asked if there is anything else it would need for the next nct as you've obviously done a lot of work to it already and maybe it needs something else. Maybe nct was the wrong way to phrase it, 'does it need anything else in general?' might be better and yes, I would ask that of anyone I buy a car from before I see it and get it checked over. I don't think it's out of bounds as a question, as generally when you would buy a car, it will need something in my experience.
Didn't know that about diesel smoke test in the NCT so thanks for that.
I'm going to read the thread you've posted now.
Looks like a well maintained car judging by the thread and by the reviews you've gotten. I'll try and give you a call tomorrow if I get a chance and organise a viewing.
So after thinking I pretty much had a deal done on an extremely clean E39 that was stored away, the owner has decided to keep it so I'm now back on the lookout again. Gutted..
If you know of a clean E39 that you or someone you know may be selling, please let me know. I will also consider a car that has potential but needs some tlc.
Must be diesel though.
I would advise against buying a car that needs work. An E39 can be a ridiculously expensive car if there's enough wrong with it. Couple of injectors and suspensions bits will have you over the 2k mark in no time.Quote:

Generally speaking, people who have good E39's won't sell them as they are worth considerably more to the owners than market value.
Been to see it before I got a line on the 1 that I missed out on but it's not for me.
Maybe you're right about something needing work I'll just have to go and see a few more.
I was in exactly the same position as you are now when I was looking for my current car.Quote:

I resigned myself to buying a car that needed a bit of work, took a flight over to Newcastle and bought a car that had a good history but a slightly ropey body for 4k sterling. It needed paint on the door, the wings, and it needed a few suspension components. I was looking at dropping another 2k on the car as soon as I got home.
Within 2 months of buying it and clearing it, my current car came up for sale, I cut my loses on that car and bought my current car, which was a 2 owner 77k car.
E39's in good order are becoming rare but it's definitely a function of time, also, there isn't that big a difference in fuel consumption between the diesels and petrols. A manual diesel will do 50+ on a sedated run but combined it's about 40mpg.
Any of the petrols tend to do about 30 combined but you don't have the worry of turbos, injectors, EGR's and the M54 is an absolutely lovely engine.
If it were me, I would simply concentrate on finding a tidy manual, irrespective of fuel type.
Anyone familiar with this car: http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/genuine-530d-msport-just-nctd/8216645
Afraid not Robbie but in one of the pics the front towing cover is missing, you would have to wonder why it was towed.Quote:

Cheers Chris. Thats odd alright, especially as it looks like all the pics are in the same place. Plus its a manual which I'm not massively keen on, would prefer an auto but at this point there's so few even coming up that I'm considering all sorts:huh:
Id say always go view a car its impossible to judge just from the ad , if an auto is really what you want though hold out 90% of larger engined e39's are automatic so you wont be waiting long to find one
You're right, wouldn't write anything off just looking at pic, but I'd prefer an auto if I am going to get one.
Funny how the tide turns i just had a quick look and most 530's at the moment are manual 2 months ago they would have all been autos
Just keep your eye on donedeal the right one will come up good luck with the hunt
Lots of bad weather on the way in lads, good time to sell me your nice E39 and get something with snow tracks:tounge::happy:
The E39 owners know a good thing when they have it! :P Nice try though! :D :P
Worth a shot Dave:p :D

Thanks gar, do you know if the owner is on here?
Not that im aware of rob
Cheers gar, looks well, just missing a few comforts like the duel climate control. Had actually been looking at this car too which is missing the duel climate also: http://cars.donedeal.ie/view/8138954
They bith look well, I'm just torn as to whether to bite the bullet and get something like that or wait for something with a good spec as I'm not in a need to buy position, just want to buy position:happy:
How many miles a week do you do rob
If its not crazy amounts id be grabbing this its looks very tidy
http://www.dunnemotorservices.ie/viewanad.php?ad_id=1172401&r=
Right now, I'm probably only doing about 40miles a week as I'm able to get the train to work but my problem is that it could change in a month and I'd be doing serious mileage again, just depends where the job sends me.
For example, up to 2 months ago, I was doing over 600km a week.
ha ha ha ! looking well ? :hehe!: have u even seen it closer as from ad ?Quote:

No, I haven't seen it closer than pics in the add, although pictures can easily lie about a cars real condition as you know yourself:wink:
Feel free to share any information you have to save me any unnecessary trips:smiling:
The 525i's aren't too bad at all on fuel. Mine does around 32 on Motorways and more on Dual Carriages and that's an Auto too. That 525i above looks great with some nice wheels too!Quote:
