So then, if you were to be handed the keys to one of these today, which would you take?

Alot of D's are Msport and the i's are se from what i see, anyone know why?
335d all the way. The 335i sound shit
Doesn't really matter as the se came with msport interior and suspension. Only difference is the exterior.Quote:

Are you seriously trying to say a diesel sounds better than a straight 6 petrol engine?Quote:

This one's a bit closer than I thought it was going to be, had a suspicion the "i" was going to walk it
But your compairing the 335i to an m54 engined e46, so how can you say a diesel sounds better than a straight six petrol?
Unfortunately I've not been in a 335d or 335i so I can't comment anymore. But from the outside the 335i does not sound impressive.
At full chat or idling? I have heard a few and tbh they sound just as nice or even better than the m54 engines (imo)Quote:

The 335D annoys my head!! :@:@
There is no point in having a diesel car when it struggles to do 40mpg.
Finally someone speaks sense
Ok, I did a bit of homework to what cars are out there that I would buy.
This is based on a planned two year ownership period.
These are the cars I found
35d - 2010 m sport, 63k miles, 43 mpg - £21k - €26
35i - 2011 m sport, 19k miles, 34 mpg - £18k - €21
35d VRT - €10798
35i VRT - €9867
Total purchase cost 35d - €37k
Total purchase cost 35i - €31k
35d road tax - €750
35i road tax - €1200
Based on the above fuel consumption averaging 20k per year it would cost you the below to do 40k
35d - €6408
35i - €8680
After two years the total cost over two years would be
35d - €44908
35i - €42080
I think the 35i would be worth more because after 40k it would have 59k on the clock and the 35d would have 103k
For me the 35i is an absolute no brainer. If you kept for for longer it would be a different story in terms of overall cost.
335i for me. If I wanted that amount of Torque I'd buy one of these:

I know nothing about tractors, but I really want one of those!
Right, this is where I see the 335d, it's the GT car for the current motoring age - great range for the amount of shove it can summon up, it's in its element doing a 100MPH cruise all day long (allegedly! ;)). In that respect, a 335i can't compete IMO
would have to be a D mainly for the grunt i know it woulodnt sound as good but i couldnt say no to all that torque . it would feel so much faster than a 335i
Lads if its torque your after and sound doesn't bother yous , you need one of these :D

yes it has 100% of torque available at 1000 rpm but 33% of 600nm in the 335d is better that 100% of fuck all in the leaf :PQuote:
