Not the prettiest hatch out there but very potent and competent little car.
Wouldn't buy one but definitely leaning toward "Hot"
Exactly! Well put Dave :cool:Quote:

God doesn't give a shite about the environment and in the words of mr clarkson we need more power.
I just can't understand why put a diesel in a "hot hatch"?
It would be like making the new m3 a hybread (yes I did say bread)
That 1st gen Fabia VRS was only available as a diesel I think. Not sure if there was some sort of marketing reason for that though, maybe not to step on the toes of the Lupo/Polo GTi?Quote:

Can you drive a tdi constantly in the redline?
And who really wants 50mpg in something that's ment to be a fun, fast car?

Epic fail by skoda
Love these little yokes.Defo hot
Well it didn't seem to work for AMG only a couple of years earlier, but Skoda really latched onto something and it seemed to pay off for them. I have to say there's something about a small hatch diesel that I quite like, with the torque making up for any lack of power that you'd get with the base petrol versions in some ways. But I've never driven a diesel "hot hatch", so you could be right and that it's an answer to the question nobody ever asked, as the petrol equivalents have the power anyway

Saying that, it's looking like it's a HOT car!
Hot!
And definitely in the newer guise....seen a lime green, black roof, one earlier and thought it was very cool!
Not , i like the octavia vrs not a fan of the fabia though
I like them, they're a great car. The used the vag pd130 ASZ engine, which was bullet proof, I had a bora with it and that car could sit at 100 mph all day. KevinF bought it from me and remapped it to something like 185bhp. There are guys running them with little more than a hybrid turbo and an FMIC pushing out 220bhp and achieving intergalactic mileage, hassle free.
IMO there is a massive market for frugal tunable hot hatches.
