Things to do in Kuala Lumpur, Mai Khao, and Phuket?

Has anybody been there, and if so any recommendations or tips? :)

I'm going on business but the business side of it is about 3-4 days, and seeing as it's the other side of the world and I've never been there before, I'll stay for 2 weeks to have a look around.

At the moment I know I definitely want to go to Phi Phi Islands, but open to other suggestions, willing to venture anywhere really but flights are very long as it is so don't want to waste more time travelling somewhere very far when/if there is nice things to do reasonably close.

Kuala Lumpur is for 3 nights by the way so the bulk of the trip will be in Thailand.

Patong beach is good fun, there's nothing much to do in Phuket itself.

You can rent jet skis for about €50 for 3 hours.

You can also go wake-boarding all day for about €20.

Patong is absolutely mental at night! The things you see are unreal.

Go snorkelling on Phi phi and take the night trip to the different beaches and islands. Brace yourself for the dirt though.

I loved northern Thailand. Chiang Mai especially. It's really worth the trip, internal flights are very cheap!

Went last year with herself. 2 weeks in total. Bangkok to phi phi then Phuket.

What a holiday!!!!

Went to Koh Phangan years ago, full moon party was madness.

Excellent, so will definitely check out Patong one of the nights. Would love to check out Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan while I'm at it!

Nope, going Dublin - Kuala Lumpur via Abu Dhabi, 3 nights there then Kuala Lumpur - Phuket, 11 nights then Phuket - Dublin. Might be a bit tight for time to be going north east and south east as well as having a look around where we're staying. I think I'll check out internal flights and then play it by ear. Any other suggestions or recommendations meanwhile welcomed :)

Air asia is your friend! I booked nearly everything through the skyscanner app.

Nok air,Thai lion,Bangkok airways and Air Asia all fly domestic in Thailand ,personally i would recommend Nok Air ive flown with them loads of times,cheap and cheerful :smiling:

Just try nd get some kinda moon party in on kho phanang where they hold the full moon party's on the beack. Look out for black moon or half moon parties but if possible the full moon party on the beach. Bin to about 15 an each 1 was unreal.

Totally forgot about the vaccines you're meant to take... Those who went, did you get them or...?

I didn't bother, only an issue if you're close to the borders

I wouldn't be too worried about them to be honest unless you're going trekking through the jungles up north,but if its your first time it wouldn't do you any harm to get them just for the peace of mind.

Phuket and Mai Khao are lovely but they're no Patong....!
