Lads im goen looking at e36 diff today the guy was told its small case lsd but hes not sure himself he took pic of tag and states 338v476? Normally i taught it would state "S" on tag? Any help ill try post pic of it

I 'think' the M42 318is had a 3.38 and M44 is 3.45.

It will have an LSD unit in it. An open diff wont. Do a quick Google to see what I mean. You'd really want a drive out of it as even if the diff is an LSD it could be shagged. Actually thinking about it I think the other lad said he was told it needed a new crown wheel pinion.Quote:
