Hey lads, anyone know if there's any insurers that would take a 15 year old 5 Series on a Classic Policy under a 21 year old?

If the 21 year old has another car that is the 'main car' then yes......
First Ireland give classic policies on 15 year plus German (BMW, Merc, Porsche) cars only. Everything else is 25 I think. But he will need to provide 'live' proof of no claims/policy on a daily driven car.

You don't have to have second car with first Ireland classic but it does make it cheaper
Yeah this'll be a second car, it's a project that I'm not going to insure unless I can get it done cheap enough on a classic car policy.
Edit, First Ireland require people to be 25 or older and the says the car can't be younger than 20 years old unfortunately.
I really don't think it's possible until your 25 (I'v heard of some lads getting it at 24 if they're already with that insurer)
I'd personally love to have something like a Sierra or Granada as a daily but not possible. :(
There's actually a 18yo on PistonHeads in the UK with a Morris Minor as his first car.
Try Carole Nash or AxA though, Let me know if you get a result somewhere!
Yeah I'll be ringing around alright, can't hurt to ask anyway!
Axa is definitely cars 25 years and older. Had a discussion with them about it as they're my main insurer also.

presume with the way things are going with insurance its the only way to insure older stuff soon
My M5 is on with them and that's only 22 years oldQuote:

A few of my friends got it at 22/23 but nobody I know at 21 although on something as mundane as a 5 series, it's worth a shot!
Classic Policy with First Ireland for last few years on the E36 M3 Evo 1999, renewal came in the post last Week at 300+ Euro.
Try calling them they have different policies with different companiesQuote:
