Lads, a few months ago my vibration damper failed so I found a febi replacement online(autodoc.co.uk) for a very good price.
The past few days I’m starting hear another knocking sound, most noticeable at idle but not as bad as before.
What are the chances a febi unit has failed so quick? I took a slomo vid of it running and can see a hop in the pulley that coincides with the knock.

Anyone else experienced this before? Any input appreciated.
yes it could be faulty and just failed again . faulty part , faulty other parts, as tensioner, worn or wrong length belts. think I do had same problem with febi make on this type of engine
and here u go , when it comes to failure for cheaper online part ... and must do same work again ... and fight to get your guarantee, if its possible to get at all . thats why parts in local shop cost more and garages charges extra ,but do give guarantee .
Thanks valdas, agreed it makes sense to buy local for things like this. I’ll likely purchase a new one tomorrow.
OTTO have a ‘SNR’ branded one for €160+vat
Also water pump bearings don’t feel good and I’ll replace tensioner pulley too while I’m at it.
